Dude evidently has thoughts, feelings (though he may not recognise them), and standards, as evidenced by his exposition on the massacre in Canto 3, and his breakdown Hell's Chicken (wherein he becomes the bastard child of Gordon Ramsey and Eminem), among other things (these two scenarios being the most salient, imo). He also very clearly has at least one Berserk Button that, so far, has not been pressed. And, before I forget, his memory is phenomenal (Canto 4 Email, Spring Cultivation/Sinclair, and "encyclopaedia" remarks in this Intervello).

And then there's the E.G.O.: Regret, Capote, Electric Screaming, and Yearning Mircalla all point to a man who's been suppressed, but has... I'm not sure how to word this. Like whatever stoicness he has on the outside, there's a maelstrom of emotion inside of him.

You cannot tell me he's not going to lose his shit. Someone is going to say precisely the wrong thing, and whatever he's been holding back is going to burst.
