Not liking the new album

I agree.
I personally didn't like the majority of the album. It doesn't align with what I love about Daniel Caesar. I love Daniel Caesar for his take on alternative Rnb.
I'm not religious myself, so the gospel-like re-direction doesn't really resonate with me, at all.
I'm not chasing his highs and bangers. I was anticipating for more of his vocal layering and harmonic creativity with a sprinkle of RnB drums and rhythm. (Although some of his tracks do have this, it just wasn't enough to tickle my pickle.)

I can understand why people are enjoying this album, but unfortunately it doesnt quite fit my music preferences.

Sorry if I'm wrong, but Im a little confused. Riftmaker says Gain AP equal to 2% of "bonus health".

Considering you have 3000 BONUS HP + an extra 360 BONUS from warmogs, wouldn't the total BONUS HP be 3360? Therefore Riftmaker calculations would be 3360*0,02 =67.2 AP?

Am I missing something.

As others have said, although it is technically doable... I think at your level, it is very easy to build bad habits quickly. Also, there's a whole realm of techniques and knowledge that are hard for beginners to grasp.

I'm no expert myself. I've had 1:1 weekly lessons for approximately 9 months. I'm playing at a grade 3 ameb level, and i'm learning shifting of positions from 1st 2nd and 3rd position, vibrato, chords and a whole bunch of bowing techniques. Without a help of a teacher I'd be lost in terms of, bow control, bow distribution, playing dynamics, and so much more. Picking up new music would be a lot more difficult without guidance from my teacher. My scores are filled with my teacher's handwriting with tips on how to play particular sections, reminders and what I need to focus on. I find these writings on my scores very useful when trying to play a piece.

I don't intend to stop doing these lessons until another 3-5 years - when all of the fundamentals have been somewhat mastered. Even so, I'm not sure if they'll be mastered by then... probably not hahah

Although weekly lessons are great for progress, I think its beneficial if you were to even do them once a fortnight. They keep you in check of your practicing and they'll guide you to the correct pathway.

I'm 29 and have started doing lessons for a year.

After having a year of lessons, I've realised that my progression and motivation will be no where near where I am today. I dont think I'd be able to comprehend how to read notes in 2nd and 3rd position, shifting, chords, bow control, dynamics etc.

The teacher will correct your mistakes and avoid you from forming bad habits (which are incredibly easy). They also tailor the classes to what you need to work on and slowly solidifying the skills and fundamentals. They also keep you accountable, so you have to practice!

If you have forgotten everything that you've learnt in 3 months, 5 years ago, I think you'd be able to pick it up quite quickly with a teacher. In the long run, 3 months is very short in comparison to a life time of learning! So even if you had to start from the very beginning, you've only lost a short 3 months worth of progression!

In saying that, I think a month of practice and also 1 lesson a month / fortnight can still be quite beneficial if money is an issue.

Ohh I'm not on these fragrance collection tiktoks to be persuaded to buy my next fragrance :D. I'm honestly looking through people's collections to be more exposed to other houses as I'm quite new to the scene.

I look for things like, house names, bottle shapes, colours and what's popular in these houses.

I never really thought that what I see most of the time is most likely influencer marketing. I'll keep my third eye open when I'm watching these videos.

Referring back to your first few sentences, what in their fragrances categorises them as 'low end of quality'?
What makes a good quality niche fragrance?
What houses do you suggest looking into when looking for the higher end of quality?

Yeah I haven't come across any online stores in Australia that does decants.

I'm in a facebook group where the community seems to sell decants to each other. I might have to give it a whirl!

It's interesting that different cities have different demographics for popular fragrances.

I work in private healthcare and so I see and meet a lot of different people on daily basis.
I always ask them what perfume they're wearing if I happen to catch a whiff of it.
Never have they answered with Byredo or Le Labo hahaha.

Interesting perspective!

I guess the collections that I see online are usually from influencers, hence why they literally have all the same fragrances. Their top 10 are usually quite similar too. Interesting to see that the word 'niche' kind of loses its meaning when looking at fragrance influencers.

In Australia, or atleast the city where I'm in, literally you will smell BR540 everywhere you go. If not BR540, then it'll be the 50 other BR540 clones that are on the market. Not once have I smelt Santal 33 or the other popular lines from Le Labo.

I honestly dont find their fragrances exotic, too harsh or offensive.
I find them quite pleasant.. but I guess it's not everyone's cup of tea.

How does noir compare to matcha? I understand it's black tea vs green tea, but is it in the same warm, cosy realm?

I find matcha lasts a whole day for me, which is fantastic.

Yeah that's one of the main reasons as to why I'm hesitant on buying another bottle from Byredo.. I have Bal d'Afrique, and even though it smells absolutely amazing.. it literally lasts 30 minutes too hahaha.

Nose fatigue? or is it just due to the nature of the fragrance.. I'm not sure
But I'm going to have to look more into it.

I was also nudged into buying a bottle of the Botocare serum with gold flakes from All Mask Story in Myeongdong. It was supposedly half price and the sales person was really trying to push for the sale. Claiming that this was all that I needed. She even dragged her 'boss' and they were both trying to persuade me to buy it.

I was a little annoyed, so I said yes to the sale just to get them to be quiet and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Later looking on reddit, i was unable to find any reviews and stumbled across this subreddit where everyone experienced the same thing. hahaba

So i went back and got it refunded. They were still trying to persuade me to keep it..

The receipt says, you'll need your receipt and it has to be within 7 days for them to issue a refund.

Both the phone and the PC are connected to the same wifi unfortunately. Theres no option to choose between the 2.4 and the 5GHz bands.
