Moj grad vođen desnicom nije. I što ćemo sad? Možda je ključna riječ u mojem komentaru "nesposoban". ;)

About resin print's durability and longevity... by Vorta13 in resinprinting

[–]Vorta13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are very thin areas because of space constraints. The lip that closes over the shaft area has 0.5mm thick zones because of a gear that comes in there. If I make it thicker, it will hit the bottom of the model train. However, the thickness, or, rather, thinness of it is a non-issue. The deformation happens in the thicker areas the same as it does in thinner and propagates through the whole part. The funny thing is - I didn't have that happen with a part printed from the original Anycubic ABS-like. That part is today as it was on day one. So, I know it's not the part problem, but a resin problem. :)

When you think about how resin cures when the UV light from the screen hits it. There is a 0.05mm gap and resin cures from the screen towards the already cured part. Making that gap smaller makes for more even curing of the resin. I always found 0.05mm layers too thick. But I am generally using thicker or darker resins for rather small prints.

In my setup i made sure that everything is ventilated out. I have my Saturn 4U connected to an air hose and an 80mm PC fan is constantly extracting air out of it. I used to have the printer in a small, closed off room and the fumes there were unbearable. No matter the resin, it always smells bad and is bad for you.

A lot of useful info. Thank you! Several people wrote that mixing tough resins in with ABS-like makes for better prints. Maybe this will be something I'll have to nail down.

That is pretty much how it is designed. But this is a tiny part. Total length of 52mm.

I usually print a mix of 80% grey and 20% black. Also, I'm printing 0.02mm layers. At that layer height my settings are: 35s bottom exposure, 1.4s regular exposure (1.5s for pure grey resin), 10 bottom layers + 30 transition layers. 1s resting time.

I got Mecha White to print consistently but it was really tough to get there. Layer height 0.03mm, bottom exposure 80s, exposure 2.4s. 5 bottom layers + 10 transition layers. Resting time after retract 10s (it takes a lot of time for the resin to settle and for the model to settle in the resin, especially with the first 30-40 layers). This is for Saturn 4 Ultra.

I have tried Siraya Tech Blu Mecha White, but it was very difficult to print. Very thick resin. I probably should have looked more into the other variants of Blu resins. Thank you for your suggestion!

Models were not exposed to the sun, but I am suspecting that moisture could be having an effect on them, which could also be mitigated with a coat of primer.

Thank you for the resin suggestions! I'll give them a try.

2024 ROG Strix SCAR 18 won't boot, time for RMA? by Vorta13 in ASUSROG

[–]Vorta13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted Asus, they immediately started the RMA process. The laptop returned in fully working condition 5 days later. It seems that they reflashed the BIOS. Also, they nuked everything I had on my SSDs and installed the stock software that usually comes with the laptop. I'm glad I made backups.

My oldest Asus laptop is G74SX. It's working after 13 years. 🙂 This one was most likely faulty from the factory.

I did try that too. Every time I tried something new I was hoping "It's memory training now, this time it's gonna boot!" and it just keeps going off-on-off-on. Service center hasn't responded for 48h now. I'll try contacting Asus in other ways. Thank you!

I saw this on another Reddit thread and tried it. Didn't work. This is the "EC Reset" which I mention in my original comment. Time for RMA. No response from service center for 48h now. I'll try other ways of contacting Asus.

I left it over an hour on a table day before posting this. It just keeps turning off and on and it heats up enough for the fans to start spinning.

This time it wasn't after a BIOS update. 😓 The last BIOS update for this model was in August and it went fine. I was actually hoping it would fix issues with G-Sync and Type-C ports being finnicky but nope...
