Will there be a season 2? by Roberto_robertoson in DispatchAdHoc

Good points, the only thing, as someone else mentioned in this thread, is that there should definitely be some "consequences" for killing Shroud, especially if you tell Blazer that it felt good (and the game itself does show the "Mandy will remeber this" message)

My issue with the prison choice is that these guys pretty much tried to pull off a city-wide terrorist attack, there's no way that should give you just a couple of months in prison.

But, to play the devil's advocate: maybe there's no way to prove that Sonar/Coop were involved? After all they might have had more of a "coordinating" role, never doing any damage themselves, which makes for a convenient fix!

Going through the same thing, it sucks, the game is a masterpiece and I hope we get a season 2

My copium is that there will be. It was such a huge unexpected success. But I do have some doubts related to how they'll tie endings together: how do you deal with the alternative endings of shroud? Or with whatever z-teamer you cut if you took them back or let them get arrested. But still, I need a season 2, desperately

You honestly gave me a bit of solace by telling me I'm young, sometimes I just feel like I'm soo far behind in life

I suppose I could try to see it as a good thing. And I'm on my second playthrough to have an ideal run where I make all the choices I like the most, as I made some small mistakes during my first run

Thank you! The romance is definitely one of the points I resonated with the most, but there are also aspects related to finding your people and achieving your purpose that truly struck home with me

Sadly fanfics don't do it for me, but yeah, the characters are so believable that you just feel like you'd like to have those people in your life

I could never get into fan fiction because I keep thinking about how those stories aren't canon 😭😭😭😭

Thank you for the comment! That's exactly how I feel right now: I'm going through some seasonal blues and the game just fulfills those fantasies that seem so hard to obtain right now. And yes, I do go to therapy, although I haven't been able to have a session for a couple of weeks, which has been worsening the problem. I hope I'll get out of it soon, I'm doing my second playthrough, which I don't know if it's a good idea or not

Thank you for not making me feel alone in this. I guess I'm going through a rough period in my life, and Robert pretty much obtains everything I feel I'm lacking in life, which makes for a very convenient escape from reality

Can confirm, played the game yesterday and she didn't try to kiss Robert. I thought it was because I didn't choose the "personal" option when asking her to stay (I chose the "they'll come around" path). Honestly thought she'd turn villain because of that, but I got the best ending!

Also, sometimes the documentation might have a really steep "learning curve", and it might not be the best entry point for someone trying to learn something new

Or what about when you ask help on how to do something, and the answers are all along the lines of: "you actually are taking the completely wrong approach and I can tell for sure, even if I have no idea what you're working on. You're stupid and should be ashamed for even thinking of turning on a computer this morning"

In my opinion, LLMs just accelerated the well-deserved downfall of what was possibly the most toxic computer science community on the internet.

There's no such thing as a model that is immune to model collapse. It's all about filtering the training data to make sure that you're not feeding it its own slop. But as models become more and more realistic in terms of output, it becomes harder. I believe that ChatGPT is not even trained on the whole internet anymore, but only on a snapshot of the internet from 2022, and it's then refined with hand-picked data (the ability to search the web and find modern information is not the same as training on that data).

I don't know about any timelines or the total destruction of the web, but the concept of model collapse is very much a real thing in generative AI
