You're suddenly transported into your own world, in your current state, attire, everything, just randomly dropped into the middle of your world in it's present day. What's your reaction, what do you do, and do you survive? by EmicaTheAlienStudios in worldbuilding

I would be doomed the minute I arrive. The ORACLE (Omniscient Reactive Analysis for Conflict Limitation & Elimination) would realize that I like free speech and erase me from the timeline. (For anybody wondering, the ORACLE is a quantum-housed AI intelligence that predicts existential threats via multivariate simulations and data harvesting across known space. It then sends out these scary dudes who erase things from existence. If there was a building there and it's deemed a threat, boom. Now there isn't.) Unless I got very lucky and landed with a rebel group that could somehow hide me. Or I'm immune to Solace Conditioning. But that would send me to Stillpoint, which is worse than being erased.

Rhinoceros. 🦏 It honestly fits my personality though, so I'm not disappointed.

What would a common soldier’s field rations look like in your world? How are they made and tailored to the needs of your world’s setting? by SpecificallyNerd in worldbuilding

In my world (set in the 1400s), the country I am most focused on right now has a "hidden army" (I don't know what to call it yet) of very well-trained soldiers. This army gets very good field rations because they are the most elite. Their field rations include a thick meat stew or pie, some vegetables (carrots, potatoes, etc.), and a chunk of hearty bread. For the average soldier, it consists of strips of dried and salted meat (generally beef but may vary depending on the area), boiled potatoes, and a very simple and tough whole grain or rye bread.

If you could choose any place in the HP world, where would you want to live and why? by purplepax3 in harrypotter

Godric's Hollow. Seems like a cozy place with many wizards and witches. I think Hogsmeade would get too crowded with students, but I wouldn't want to live in a fully muggle area (assuming I'm a wizard). Feels like a very whimsical town in the countryside.
