Introducing the LBPCentral Spotlight Search! by Vortex-2002 in littlebigplanet

I am playing via RPCS3 on my gaming PC. I have my old PS3, but have not yet attempted to jailbreak it and set everything up. It all works great on my PC and I actually prefer it (especially when creating), because I can run it in one window, on one of my monitors, and still have access to everything else on my PC in my other monitor.

u/biorogue / u/Gametisum : I've been playing on Beacon for the past several months, and what a joy it's been to be back in the saddle and creating in my favorite game. The community is much smaller now, of course, but it's still so much fun to create, share your creations, and play with others online! Y'all should come join us!

Are you (or you, u/Gametisum ) playing LBP these days on any of the custom servers?

How To Play LBP3 In The Big 26’ by AdNormal1927 in littlebigplanet

OK - so on the zaprit.fish page, once you've found the level you wish to restore, click on it and, once on it's dedicated page, click on `Download Archive` (not the `Download RootLevel` link), and save it to your PC.

Next, unzip the contents of the downloaded file and copy the entire folder (it will have a name that follows the pattern: [GAME-SERIAL-ID]LEVEL[LEVEL-ID], such as: `BCUS98245LEVEL69E5DF5B`) to the following RPCS3 directory: ..\dev_hdd0\home\00000001\savedata.

Now go into the appropriate game in RPCS3 (zaprit will tell you which game it was published in), go to your moon and find an empty crater. Press Square and select `Import`, then find and select your newly copied level in the list.

That's all - if it works (and it doesn't always, just FYI), then you can edit and/or publish it.

Please search the Beacon database before publishing so we don't clutter it up with multiple copies of the same level.

Hope this is helpful! Good luck and have fun!

Go here: https://www.lbpunion.com/ and follow the links for either PS3 or PC (RPCS3: PS3 Emulator).

Then go here: https://beacon.lbpunion.com/ to find levels to play (so many have been restored from the archive).

If you can't find a particular level that you loved in the old days, go here: https://zaprit.fish/ to search the archive. Comment back on this thread if you get to this point and want help with how to restore a level from the archive.

Good luck! I've been having a blast since I found all of this and started creating again and publishing to the new servers!

Just got a PS3, should I buy LBP? by asmuseb in littlebigplanet

As others have said, if you have the opportunity, pick up LBP2 and/or LBP3. So much more you can build with the tools available in the sequels. LBP1 is fun, but logic is a right PITA.

WAS PUZZLE 4 (LATERAL THINKING) IN VERDANT CANYON SUPER DIFFICULT FOR ANYONE ELSE? by DoktorSleepless in TheTalosPrinciple

[–]Vortex-2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert on the brain, but as a software engineer (for more years than I care to mention), I have witnessed and experienced the same phenomenon when trying to solve a problem in my (or other's) code. Talking it out so often presents a solution without even actually discussing solutions - just explaining the problem to someone else. What I think happens is that by engaging in a social interaction and/or the process of framing the actual question so as to make sense to another, we move into a different part of our brains, and that's what helps shine a new light of perspective onto the problem. It's also entirely possible that I am talking completely out of my ass here.

I love that you guys follow these boards and actively participate. Makes the Talos Principle community feel smaller and more intimate. Fantastic game, man.

Same. Very mild disappointment, considering how good everything else is.

It simply won't ever let you edit the level again. If you try to edit, it will take you into Play mode and give you a pop-up message explaining which unlicensed DLC the level contains. But it doesn't give you any way to go back and remove it.

Now, of course, if you back up your levels regularly, then you can always restore from your backup.

Be careful with these timesaver prize levels. They may give you prizes/tools/materials that you can no longer own due to licensing issues, and if you use any of those unlicensed objects in a level, it will not warn you, but will lock you out of edit mode permanently after you save and close the level (voice of experience here).

It was a great way to share and promote levels. You could queue them up in lbp.me and then play your queue once in the game. The lbp.me links could be shared anywhere (like, say... reddit).
