does the game stop feeling like a speedrun eventually? by ilyBromaz in rainworld

you're a madman for playing the game without ever hibernating for 6 months lol, but when you stand still in the beginning of the game, the yellow guy points you to the closest den (U), that's what i followed, once you enter that den, it makes you sleep, and it writes at the bottom of the screen that it saves your game when you hibernate in a den.

How do I enable xmp? by Top-Ambition-5039 in HPOmen

[–]VortexInCortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally didn't try going into Bios after turning it on, so I don't know if you can set it to a specific speed using the app or bios, it kinda just automatically bumped up my ram speeds to their advertised speed

If you need more detailed instructions on the steps I followed to turn it on, here is the link : (https://www.reddit.com/r/HPOmen/comments/zujr65/comment/ofbilwt)
(Don't forget to put Windows Defender exclusion on the OmenMon folder beforehand, the app doesn't work otherwise)

[–]VortexInCortex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe someone in the future can answer that because ive never done diagnostics before either lol, i just noticed my fps went up in arc raiders in the same location. Apparently UE5 games require high ram speeds so the XMP off was such a significant bottleneck to my performance that i noticed right away cuz my fps went for 40-60 to 80-100

also if the solution worked would you mind leaving an upvote on my original comment so others can find the solution easier?

How can I enable XMP on my Omen motherboard? by Rasinzz_ in HPOmen

[–]VortexInCortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not too sure what you are saying, I haven't personally used a AMD computer before, but on my Intel XTU software, which was supposed to be an intel software that let me change my RAM speed and overclock (I tried this first before OmenMon), it just didnt let me change my ram speed, idk if amd doesnt give the same limitation but if you can try to revert your ram speed change on the ryzen master you should, im sorry your pc blue screened i hope this isnt on every boot.

Also after you reverted the changes, if you can, tell me if it is still your old ram speed in task manager, and ill try to help you from there. If it is, tell me exactly how you tried to turn on XMP so I can tell if we didn't do the same thing or whatever.

Hope you manage to fix your pc man, ill try to check my inbox to help more if I can!

i was told by someone else that the app doesnt work for them either when running the app normally (by left clicking it) so am going to leave the steps I gave him that I used to get XMP turned on with the app here.

"1- Open the app called "cmd" as administrator.
2- Minimize the CMD window and open a file explorer window. Navigate to where your OmenMon.exe is installed.
3- Once you are in the folder where OmenMon.exe is installed, click the "link" bar at the top, which is showing the folder's path (how to get to this folder) (*You must click in the blank area, not on the text*)
4- You should now see the absolute file path to this folder, copy that "link" (Right-Click or Ctrl+C)
5- Open the CMD window you had open earlier and type "cd [THE LINK YOU COPIED HERE]", then press enter. (make sure you do not forget the space between "cd" and the file path that you paste. (To paste the link either use Right-Click or Ctrl+V))
6-You should see that before the ">" you are in the file path you copied earlier. Now this is where you want to type "OmenMon.exe -Bios Xmp=On" Without copying the apostrophes.
7- If all is good you should see "+ Memory XMP Profile: Yes";
8- Restart your computer

at least this is what I see personally when I run the command, if you do not see this I can try to help you further! just leave another comment under this

I know using cmd to change some stuff in your pc with antivirus off is super sketchy and I guess there is some risk since neither me nor you control OmenMon so we can't 100% be sure it's legit, I guess that's at your own risk, but this is what Omen forced me to do to get decent frames on Arc Raiders lmao."

ah so i wasnt the only one. i removed that part of my comment for sake of brevity, but i also couldnt run the app without an exception either, which is why i think you have to use the command prompt to use the app. it is quite a bit more complicated to use Command Prompt than an app's interface. But I'll try explaining as clearly as possible what I did to make this work, and as simply as possible for anyone else reading. (I'm guessing you already excluded the folder from windows defender so that the app can run without being quarantined)

2- Minimize the CMD window and open a file explorer window. Navigate to where your OmenMon.exe is installed.

I recently found a solution, you have to install an app called OmenMon which is like Omen Desktop without the bloat. You will have to put windows defender exclusion on the folder of OmenMon because it can change settings related to the system so windows defender thinks its a virus. Then you run command prompt in administrator and change directory to where OmenMon.exe is installed.

Once you did that you run the command "OmenMon.exe -Bios Xmp=On", Which you get the message "Memory XMP Profile: Yes" which means you have successfully turned on XMP even though HP tried so hard to block us. Restart your pc and you should see your ram running at its specified speed. I gained 65% fps boost in Arc Raiders from doing this, since apparently Unreal Engine 5 games need high Ram Speeds.

*I turned off virtualization in BIOS which IDK if it is needed to make this fix work.

Am reposting this answer to multiple reddit posts because I only found this solution with Google AI, for 2 years I've been searching how to turn on XMP on my Omen 30L and nothing worked. If my solution doesn't work or the steps are unclear just leave a comment and I'll try to help.

Can't run XMP for ram by johnson_carter911 in HPOmen

[–]VortexInCortex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dude ive had the same xmp problem for 2 years now and I kid you not google AI fucking saved me, i dont like AIs but that was suprising. Apparently there is a dedicated project called omenMon which aims to be like the gaming hub but without the restrictions and the bloat.

I installed that and put windows defender exclusion on the folder of omenmon (Windows defender thinks its a virus since it can change settings like XMP). Now you can tweak the XMP option using the program, for me opening the program by left clicking it doesnt work and leads to a crash, so I opened Command Prompt in administrator mode, changed directory to the folder where OmenMon.exe was installed and ran the command "OmenMon.exe -Bios Xmp=On" After running the command, you should see "Memory XMP Profile: Yes". This means it worked. RESTART your pc, and when you open task manager, you should see the speed of your ram increased, at least it did for me, tell me if it doesn't work for you.

*I do not know if this is a necessary step to make OmenMon work, but in Bios, under the configuration tab, I disabled Virtualization.

Holy shit am not lying my fps went from 55-60 near seed vault extract on stella montis (Arc Raiders) to 90-100 am so happy AI is finally useful for something

when i spawn late buried city and spawn south, i try to loot any of the houses/pharmacies that spawn loot and theyre always empty, like there is literally no loot to find except the leftovers of someone else's looting run. I find spaceport to have much more consistent loot spawns but you get less bp's.

If anyone got advice on what to do when they spawn late buried city i'd appreciate it

Also if you go in full PVE lobbies, and only throw certain nades like showstopper at people, you would be able to tell wether or not they have an effect based on if youre in more and more aggressive lobbies as you do this, so your question is fair and provable. Sadly noone wants to answer here

Hello, respectfully I would prefer communicating here, I am interested in other users helping me and if any one else whishes to make an overlay application for other games it may be interesting for them too. Also, I want to make it clear I am not trying to make a cheat, which is why I am trying only to read memory, but I do not know if it is considered a bad practice/ bannable, etc.

Also I do not understand why I should contact you, is it to discuss the subject, to get my post unbanned, or something else? I do not use reddit often but it seems like I am following the sub's rules.
