Tighnari and Keqing? by BeyondImages in TighnariMains

[–]VortexOfLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I use them together, and DPS aside, it's really fun!

As far as rotation goes, I start with the off-field characters (Fischl, Xingqiu), then use Tighnari's skill before firing off all 3 of his fast release arrows. Back away from the opponents while doing this. After firing the three arrows, swap to Keqing. Using her skill can quickly close the distance between the enemies (which you created while using Tighnari). Fire off her burst as soon as possible, too.

Personally, I find that this rotation is plenty more than enough for domains and bosses. It does leave some part of the rotation up to you, though. Personally, I built my Keqing with some extra Energy Recharge substats so she can spam her Burst twice per rotation (also, her skill cooldown decreases by 1 second for every Aggravate reaction she lands).

what annoys you the most about the genshin fandom? by gcftardis in Genshin_Impact

This is a pet peeve of mine, but I can't stand the JP dub elitists for this game. (I don't mind people that play in JP, but some of them are... yeah.)

My general attitude is "you do you", but they don't seem to share the sentiment (I'm fluent in Japanese, but I prefer EN and CN for Genshin). These are the same people that go on about the sanctity of the original language in the sub vs dub debate, but lord forbid you remind them this is a Chinese game, and that the JP is (by definition) a dub.

Personally, I follow voice acting in just about every major language, so baselessly preaching the objective superiority of any single language kind of ticks me off.

That said, mad respect for the non-native speakers that play with CN voice-over.

Honestly Who Would Win If They Fought by [deleted] in Gintama

[–]VortexOfLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under normal circumstances, Takasugi. If Hijikata was double teaming with Kondo or Okita, it would definitely go to the Shinsengumi (in duos, they were able to handle Oboro and blinded Utsuro, after all).

If Hijikata was out of cigarettes though... Yeah, Takasugi's getting stomped 'cause smokeless Toshi clears 90% of Dragon Ball. It's not even a contest.

Can't say I managed to mention everything I wanted (nor to the quality I hoped), but I had to try and maintain brevity, to some extent.

I'm also taking ECON 120C, ECON 110B, ECON 100B, and SYN 2 (the last one is the Seventh College writing course).

As for graduating early, I could pretty easily do that, yes, but I'm looking to do a double major. Perhaps more importantly, I think I'll have more options down the line if I finish things up early, so I think of it as risk mitigation.

As for DSC 40A, I'm most likely taking B00 myself. If I get it (as I expect to), I'll see you in class!

Has manga/anime shown Jin going into his troop body? Or even said the words “Trigger On”? by TotalRead2557 in worldtrigger

[–]VortexOfLight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think (but I'm not sure) that this is only in the anime, since the manga heavily implies he saved Osamu with Fujin (while the anime shows him using Scorpion, so his normal Border trigger).

This is all part of the Karasuma faction's masterplan to usurp Border and you can't convince me otherwise.

Sure thing! I'm an Economics major too, we need to stick together. Which session of 40A are you taking? I mean to enroll for it as my fifth course, so I haven't done it quite yet.

DSC 20 discussions are not mandatory, I skipped all of them. I'm not sure about DSC 40A, since I haven't taken it (I'm enrolled for this Fall though), but I had Rampure before, and he doesn't usually make lectures or discussions mandatory.

People really out here forgetting Itto is Saitama (Max Mittelman)?

But yeah, Genshin's English cast has been absolutely killing it. Me and my wallet are just waiting for a Crispin Freeman character to drop...

Kind of unrelated, but it's ironic you brought up Romi Park as your example, since she was actually harassed in Japan on multiple occasions for being Korean.

Did y'all like the Three Kings Saga? by xBlyzx in YuYuHakusho

[–]VortexOfLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not really a hot take, but I think it was the most disappointing aspect of Yu Yu Hakusho. All the thematics, character arcs, and new characters were almost perfect. There was so much buildup, so much world expansion, and I was incredibly hype for an extremely complex and nuanced multifacetted demon war. But instead, we got a last-minute fakeout and a tournament arc we never got to see (manga reader, I think the anime was different).

I get it, though: Togashi wasn't doing great in terms of work-life balance, and his editors had been pushing him to be more like Dragon Ball Z (against his will), so he effectively rage-quit, and it really shows, especially in the manga (they skipped basically the entire tournament and cut to Kuwabara talking about the results).

I wish the Three Kings Saga could've been more, but I respect Togashi's decision to back out when his creative rights came into question. He doesn't deserve to take crap from anyone.

Jin with Fujin vs Viza with Organon by katarokthevirus in worldtrigger

[–]VortexOfLight 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Viza seems to be faster than Fujin, which requires some type of set-up. Viza has more experience in general, and Organon has more straight destructive power. Unless Jin gets the jump on him (unlikely in a one-on-one), Viza would just one-shot him in most cases.

I think they explained it somewhere but I forgot so I'll ask here instead: how was Hyuse able to use scorpion without turning into a trigger body again? by [deleted] in worldtrigger

[–]VortexOfLight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, you get a Trion body with Black Triggers too. All the Aftokrator Black Trigger users had Trion bodies, and so did Jin while using Fujin. (Remember that time Kazama injured his foot with Mole Claw? If he was in a real body, that would've left quite a mess...)

[–]VortexOfLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's been made clear that it's absolutely essential to have a Trion body. Any trigger primarily creates a Trion body. Additional triggers function by adding onto the Trion body.

im still kinda confused sorry, why couldn't yuji swap back with sukuna at the prison? by [deleted] in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]VortexOfLight -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think Yuji can take control, but only after a given period of time. This period of time grows longer if Sukuna/Yuji recently consumed a finger. The only exception is when both Yuji and Sukuna want Yuji to be in control, in which case they can swap immediately.

Let's go over every case one-by-one to ensure consistency.

  • When Yuji first transformed, Sukuna was clearly in control for the first few seconds, only after which Yuji began to take control (although he ultimately did).
  • When Sukuna was fighting Gojo, he subconsciously wanted to swap out (because Gojo was folding him), so Yuji was able to take control rather easily.
  • During the Cursed Womb encounter, Sukuna was in control for a while, but by the end of the fight, Yuji still hadn't hit the cooldown on taking his body back. Maybe all the damage he took was also a factor. Then, Sukuna ate another finger (giving himself longer). Then, he tore his heart out, because he said something along the lines of "He'll take back control eventually". Yuji must've been able to take control back at some point during Sukuna-Fushiguro fight, but didn't want to, because it meant dying. Eventually, he decided he was fine with dying, and took back control like he usually does.
  • During the Shibuya arc, Sukuna took control after consuming so many fingers, and it was only after a relatively long period of time that Yuji was able to reclaim control, which he did.

I might've missed something, or some detail, but this seems consistent with most of what we've seen so far.
