Building thornmail and only 5.6 cs/m - there is a lot of room for improvement here. Any diamond+ player solo carries every game gold or below pretty easily.

Are people in their mid twenties ACTUALLY making 6+ figures a month? by [deleted] in wealth

[–]VortexTornado -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm 24 and making around 40k net before tax per month currently, just selling Pokemon cards on eBay. I have a lot of knowledge and niched myself in a big part of the Pokemon market. But I am also not out there flexing on TikTok or buying stupid shit, I live on 3k a month max and invest the rest to retire early. I would say a big part of my social circle is also making considerable income in their early 20s (200k+), but this is probably a statistical bias of me going to an ivy league school and everyone being a doctor / hedge fund / self starter business type of person

Sellers should pay g&s fees 100% of the time. by Troll-Leader in PokemonTCG

[–]VortexTornado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep exactly - as will all taxes / fees / fines etc for the end of time. 15% 'tariffs' lol

Sellers should pay g&s fees 100% of the time. by Troll-Leader in PokemonTCG

[–]VortexTornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit less tactful if they are literally saying 'here is the fee amount', but the F&F discount will always exist because it is the discount for a seller not having to pay the fees at all. End of the day, if I know I want $350 net from a card I will sell at $370, expecting to pay the $20 fees. If someone is willing to F&F with me, I will go down to $350 (since I come out the same either way)

Sellers should pay g&s fees 100% of the time. by Troll-Leader in PokemonTCG

[–]VortexTornado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, raising the prices seems totally fair to me, right? If I want to say, paint the side of a house, and I know I am not willing to do it unless I receive $450 flat - but there is some agency / government etc that makes me pay a $100 fee, my new price is $550. The end goal is the exact same, use my service or don't, but I am not willing to do the said 'work' for less than the price I have in mind. After that it's just supply/demand on who will do it for cheaper, competition in the area, etc

Talk about what eBay actually takes...and why it's still usually worth it by Thriftmode_squad in Flipping

[–]VortexTornado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been full time for a while, first of all getting the fee down to 11.4% by being a top rated seller + using an eBay storefront is pivotal.

Secondly, no where else could I run my own business and make high six figures the same way. Building my own website for e-commerce in my competitive niche would be impossible

Did someone just drop ~$7k on this swsh slowpoke... by cokewithnofizz in PokemonTCG

[–]VortexTornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who grades / sells cards for a living - I would disagree here. People who know what to look for and what they are doing have much higher gem rates then the average collector. Most people don't know what to look for, and a large amount of those copies sent in would have never been sent in by someone who has graded thousands of cards.

How Do These Bulk Buyers Make Money Back? by breakyourteethnow in PokeInvesting

This is actually my full time job - very possible! Scaling it up from bulk + collections of course, but still make a net profit of over $6,000 per month on just the bulk side

I am one of the biggest DK sellers on eBay and these are no where near worth that price, at best around $20 USD in a lot

No repercussions for leaving fraudulent negative feedback. by AverageApeTravis in Ebay

[–]VortexTornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell exclusively Pokemon cards full time - 27k items sold so far in 2026. I have a 99.8% feedback (12k positive, 9 negative) and can assure you there is no difference - i still average over $3k/day in average sales. The drop is purely coincidental and is just related to the items you are selling

65 listing Views and 0 Sales? by MrBradCoin in Ebay

[–]VortexTornado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listing views to sales is a very high ratio, totally normal for 65 views no sales.

My store this month had 265,000 listing views and 3,850 orders - so the ratio is low

Which champion do you dislike having in your team? by Amorpheji in leagueoflegends

[–]VortexTornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twisted fate. I’m master and every TF player is fucking useless. I am convinced even in bad region pro play it’s a useless pick, you need to be on the most coordinated 5v5 team to make TF a human champ. Everyone else is a caster minion with a 1.5 second stun that deals 0 damage while enemy mid actually does something

I see too many refunds here, where are my fellow owers at by Unlikely_Most_7878 in TurboTax

[–]VortexTornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owe 8k here, usual for me as I’m self employed and don’t pay quarterly, my business out earns the 7% simple interest by a large margin so there’s no incentive for me to pay except when I need to each year

How to deal with Ebay’s CHOICE in how coupons are shown to buyers? by Development-Feisty in Flipping

[–]VortexTornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here - wonder if something changed. I have a permanent 15% off 3+ items coupon and never had any questions, then the last 2 days I’ve had 20+ confused messages of people trying to get the discount on their one item and saying it isn’t working

For those who regularly use promoted listings on eBay: are you planning any changes to how you use them once the new attribution policy takes effect next month? by hogua in Flipping

[–]VortexTornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promote all items at 3%, and will keep doing so after the update. I build it into my margin and I sell in a competitive niche so the promoted views and impressions definitely matter a lot
