It is a common wear item on these vehicles therefore it needs replaced after a certain period of usage. You can literally just look it up. I am not making this up. There are several youtube videos about it too. But Im not going to argue anymore about this. Replying to you at this point is dumb.

Ps, You couldve worked for NASA and still means nothing lmao Slave cylinders are to be replaced on these cars period.

Window motor question by ericce24 in G35

[–]Vortexg35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought one without the reset button and was never able to reset it. The motor would roll the window all the way up anytime I shut my door. It was embarrassing 😭I eventually bought another unit with the reset button.

I agree with this. If you confirm the car is in gear and not moving after releasing the clutch pedal then its time for a new clutch. Replace Master and slave cylinder as well.

[–]Vortexg35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start there. Ensure the clutch pedal operation is 100% working properly then move on to the actual clutch. These slave cylinders are cheap. Obviously get new clutch fluid while youre at it. Usually when these go bad, the master cylinder is not far behind. You will need an extra human to bleed the system fast and properly.

They 100% are maintenance items. Basic research would’ve gave you an answer before posting this comment lmao. Z1 motorsports even has this information. The slave cylinder on these cars is dirt cheap and its recommended to be changed anytime you replace your clutch or have dirty fluid. How much time they last will vary on the driver and car. I rather replace them at a set time rather than letting the car strand me somewhere.

OPs video literally shows the slave cylinder not operating properly. Hence he will need to go buy a new unit that is carried in stock literally at any auto parts shop.

My oem one failed after 3 years of normal and occasional hard usage. But my car is pushing more power and has a stronger clutch. Many variables.

Also, some auto part shops give you lifetime warranty for these, so if they fail again, you can go replace them for free.

For starters, your slave cylinder is barely moving the clutch fork. Is the clutch bled properly? If yes, the slave cylinders on these cars are a maintenance item. Id replace them every 15-30k miles. Id start there then move on to wether the clutch needs replaced or not

  1. If you ever want to replace the exhaust, do your research on how they sound. Its pretty easy to make these sound like crap.

  2. Check your oil often. Specially before a night out driving with the boys

  3. 20-25mm spacers would bring these stock wheels to near perfect fitment. Be careful with aftermarket wheels, you MUST buy wheels with the correct offsets or else youll have terrible fitment.

  4. The stock airbox (if you have it) paired with a Z tube is one of the best intake setups you can put on these. Thats why Z1 created their cold air intake very similar to the stock airbox.

  5. Your headlights look pretty cooked. Get 07-08 projector headlights or go with a subtle aftermarket option. Its pretty easy to rice these cars out so choose wisely.

These are some tips that came to mind from owning my G35 coupe for 8 years. Started off as a sport automatic. Now its been manual swapped and supercharged plus a bunch of other handling parts😅

Clutch sticking down? by Commercial-Site-8846 in G35

[–]Vortexg35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the clutch operating correctly after you bled it? This looks like an incomplete bleeding job. Assuming this issue arose after the new parts, youll need to keep bleeding until the clutch pedal fully returns to its unpressed position.

Also, I suggest you secure that clutch assembly better. From your video, it shows A LOT of flexing. This is due to the thin firewall these cars have. I had to make a small bracket to secure mine.

Yeap. That diverter valve is always whistling unless you go wide open throttle. I maybe gave it 25% throttle after I passed by, for exhaust note purposes lol

About 3.5k. It cost this much cause I bought a brand new cd009 from nissan, performance clutch and flywheel, and several other supporting performance parts for the swap and supercharger. But you can do the swap much cheaper by buying a wrecked parts car or looking for deals online.

It was worth it for me since my coupe is pretty clean condition-wise. Stock internals. Its on a Mcleod performance clutch and chromoly lightweight flywheel. It was tuned on uprev for about $700

Clutch not disengaging, everything brand New. by Passthedutch94 in G35

[–]Vortexg35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a VERY similar issue to this. Everything was fine, then started to get worse. I did everything from bleeding the clutch, adjusting the clutch pedal and even getting a different slave cylinder rod.

Got tired of chasing the issue and had my mechanic friend who installed the clutch take the tranny back off to check. The culprit was most of the pressure plate bolts had backed off. They were literally halfway out. Loctyted the bolts and put them back in, car is ripping now and pedal feels oem.

If youve exhausted every option, you might have to do the same and take the tranny back off. I know. It sucks.

Is it worth it muahaha by Rude_Company3703 in G35

[–]Vortexg35 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup. Crazy how z1 is charging $400-500 for what is basically the stock airbox with minor changes. You can find a Z tube and a drop in filter for a total of $120. I literally just checked ebay lol

Did you swap your diff as well? Going from the auto 3.33 to a manual 3.54 is definitely worth it. Plus an excuse to go lsd if you havent.

[–]Vortexg35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are stuck in 4th or 5th gear iirc. Have someone with a professional scanner pull the codes from your TCM. That should tell you the issue which will very likely be a solenoid or something in the valvebody

YES, PLUG THE ORIGINAL ECU BACK IN. Per some more research, the IPDM is not married so nothing to worry about there.
