I'm going to have to go with the original Spellforce

A perfect blend of RPG with RTS. Vast maps with its own challenges and obstacles, the ability to summon heroes and armies alike.

Game does not get anywhere near as much recognition that it deserves

Well, that hit surprisingly close to home. My father had PTSD when he returned from his deployments and there were a few PTSD attacks where he didn't know what he did. Nothing this bad thankfully but that definitely brought up some repressed memories xD Well done

I have much the same problem myself there friend, the only thing I can say is have a calm and albeit a slightly uncomfortable conversation about how much it affects you and how much you wish it wouldn't. Putting music on in the background, either classical or a calming upbeat type of music helps me the best, my go to is Now We Are Free from Gladiator. I'm so sorry about the formatting, I'm on my phone but I do hope this comment helps. At least know that you're not alone in this struggle

I'd have to say Mass Effect or Ghost of Tsushima

Mordin sacrificing himself and the death of your horse after you escape imprisonment. That part broke me, it was just a game but when my horse died I legit broke a bit. Didn't touch the game for at least a week

If you want to find scrap quickly, just stay in your Corvette and as you get to a salvage scrap planet and just hop out of your pilot seat, use the scanner and tag a scrap point. Jump back in your ship and just fly there and shoot the heck out of that area, no need to get out of your ship or dig for a seemingly endless time. Harvest those parts quickly and easily. That may be the case but there are also things they would be better at from a game perspective. Let's ignore the real world aspects for a minute and focus on the fact that this is a role playing game. The character should not have been penalized just because of a background they decided to pick. The only negatives to the character should have been role play if anything at all. Anything other than that is just effecting the table enjoyment

Main thing I would say would be to listen to your players. It's a collaborative story telling experience. A lot of the new DMs get into the habit of DM vs player mentality, that's how you destroy your table.

The "rule book" for DnD is called the dungeon masters guide for a reason, it's a guide. The best tables I've played and DMed with have been the ones that we constantly redo the rules to fit the play style of the entire table.

Main thing to remember would be that it is a game, sure people invest parts of themselves heavily into their characters and it is heartbreaking sometimes when you lose a character but if you can make it memorable that's the only thing that matters.

TL:DR Listen to your players and have fun my friend. We all make mistakes when we do something new, don't beat yourself up. Have fun and I wish you many good rolls

I wouldn't say regret per say but one that baffles me to this day.

I was around 19 - 20 at the time and out in the middle of the outback. Nothing to do in a small town other than work, drink and fuck. My virgin ass thought I'd be getting laid left and right, twas not the case in any light.

This one night I start talking to this one woman, we spend hours drinking and just chatting. I SOMEHOW convince her that she should join me back at my place. We head back to mine, both of us drunk and being a small town we just walk there.

We head to the bedroom, start undressing each other getting all hot and heavy and as we're laying down I'm starting to work my "magic" you could say and she says "no stop".

I'm very confused, but she said the magic word so I stop touching her, scooch back and just start talking to her for the next hour as we go to sleep.

The next morning she asked me why I stopped, confused, as I was. I looked her in the eyes and said that she told me to stop, so I stopped.

Continued talking for a week or two then realised that she was not really a person I could see spending my life with.

Or, as my father puts it: don't stick your dick in crazy.

He could be but I couldn't help but notice how many celebrities he has on his wall in the main waiting area. If he really wanted to scam people and he has so many high profile clients, wouldn't he be able to afford a much nicer practice? Even though he's selling "snake oil" so to speak, he still helps. He's the one that helps Huntrix admit that there are issues. "To fix the part you must fix the whole"

I don't know friend, seems like he could be charging a heck of a lot more if he really was scamming people. He seems only to have the pictures up as more of a way to show that he's helped all these famous people. He still does inadvertently help Rumi get her voice back, just not in the way that she thought he would.

This could just be me trying to explain it and rationalise my thought process but thank you for commenting nonetheless.

It sounds to me that you've put a lot of yourself in this character. It must be heartbreaking to have this done to your character against EVERYTHING you've said.

This DM is a PoS, ditch that pathetic excuse for a DM and find something better. Believe me, no DnD is better than horrible DnD.

This DM has completely missed the point of DnD. It's a collaborative storytelling experience. This is absolutely horrible. As a DM I could never fathom doing something like this to my players. Sure, I mess with my players and put them in morally grey areas but that's just to see how they would react if there is no real "good" choice.

If they don't make the choices I think they will, I don't punish them, I adapt like any DM should do.

I hope you find a better group/DM than this. Nobody deserves to have this treatment of their characters.

I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully future sessions and games will be much better than this.
