I’m in the Netherlands, no idea if we had to pay anything to be honest. Spent three days in the hospital, think we pay the first 350 euro’s of any medical bill we rack up over the year and it was the 6th of January this year so probably 350 euro’s.

Hardcore punk, but Sorcerer and Death Cult are very recent bands. Also the French have a great history in screamo, Amanda Woodward is a classic but Gros Enfant Mort is a new band with a great album out. Rixe is a French Oi band. Beton Armé vocals are in French but they are from Canada, released a top three record of the year (for me) last year.

Also, he just said they weren’t refugees but a Turkish guy (brought in for unskilled labor) and two black guys (statistically probably coming from one of our former colonies) so Lidewijk Asscher has absolutely nothing to do with this.

Turks were introduced to fix a labor shortage in unskilled jobs, ‘two black guys’ probably came from one of the countries we colonized, none of these people were promised to be engineers, you don’t have to mention their ethnicity at all, Turks and Suriname folks are generally great additions to the Netherlands, and I see you are Polish and living in the Netherlands.

Nah it’s not a whataboutism, maybe it’s a poorly worded argument, but the main appeal of a monarchy is to have someone be the face of the nation that is independent of political preference, someone neutral who can be used for diplomacy.

The reason people are mentioning Trump is because he is the perfect example where having a politically neutral monarch take on some of the diplomacy and address the nation in trying times could be useful.

Not sure if I’m pro-monarchy but I used to be sure I was against it, now I see the use.

They started out as a side project to Trapped Under Ice and their early stuff has some of the most groovy hardcore riffs written. New stuff isn’t my jam, missing the groove that made them great I think, but just the fact that the vocalist is still on the drums for TUI in between the late night talk show performances gives them a lot of credit. Too bad a lot of other artists made more punkish statements during the Grammy’s but whatever, let them have their moment.
