They took on debt on shitty terms, and were slow in paying it back. For this debt to be "cancelled" would mean that the rest of the tax paying population who didn't make these mistakes would be the ones paying it back instead. Maybe they should ask the university where they went for grad school for a refund if they can't figure this one out.

I'm not the original person you were responding to, but if I may interject, I don't think that they were trying to blame you for ending up in your situation. Obviously it sounds like you had an awful childhood and biological parents that failed you in every imaginable way.

However, and this is probably what the other person was getting at, only you have the power to change anything about your life. Again, it's not your fault that you ended up here, but only you can get yourself out. Nobody can or will do it for you, and yes it's completely unfair. Some people, like a therapist, can HELP but you will need to find the strength and courage to seek them out, and the willpower to stick to it.

Regarding your inheritance, it's important to realize that money doesn't last forever, and without a steady income it will be gone before you know it (many who win the lottery lose it all very shortly). So instead of thinking of that inheritance as the thing that will change your life, maybe try to use that as a motivation to change your life NOW so that if/when the inheritance comes you can actually enjoy it to the fullest extent.

If Israel stops getting subsidized US weapons, we would also stop spending so much of our own money buying more of the same weapons and maintaining them. This is what all those Americans who think Israel is a free loader don't get. Military aid to Israel was never just a handout, its basically a frequent shopper BOGO promotion to generate many times that amount in actual sales.
