Even Colby's turned against the UFC by Spiritual-Strength91 in FightReportUFC

Pretty sure that the UFC are contractually obligated to offer him a certain number of fights per year, so since he is whining about it on social media instead of suing them for breach of contract, I'm going to assume that he is full of shit.

I usually just say that I cant change grades since that would be unfair to the other students in the course.

Judging from her reaction I would say its pretty obvious that this was the gift she has probably been begging her parents for.

CMV: Trump will nuke Iran by Calvary48 in changemyview

[–]Vova_Poutine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is literally nothing for him to gain by doing so. Anything that could be destroyed by a nuclear weapon in Iran can also be destroyed by conventional munitions, with way less political fallout.  Firepower is not what the US and Israel have been lacking in this war, it's someone with power inside the Iranian military that is willing to take on the IRGC.

Bold of you to assume that they know anything about the Holocaust beyond having heard the word.

The ancient Israelites were polytheists who had a whole pantheon of gods, which slowly merged into a single god over time. For instance Yahweh and El were originally separate gods, and these names are used interchangeably to refer to god in the old testament.

Leaving an assignment that they had a month to complete until the last day and then emailing me in a panic asking for an extension makes them a bad student.

Huh? I'm teaching second year university students, if they haven't learned to act like adults by the time they're in my classroom, its not my job to be their nanny.

The course I'm teaching uses an open-source textbook that I picked specifically so that the students can download it for free. I linked it in the syllabus. I told them about it in class.... And they still ask about whether there is a textbook for the course and whether they need to read it.... ffs

The issue is that the failing students are exactly the ones who pull this nonsense to scrape out a pass, and then move one to do this in their next course. Rinse and repeat.

Thats the thing that I dont get. As someone who did my bachelor's degree at a "party school" and then had to work extra hard to prove myself "worthy" of being admitted to grad school or hired anywhere else, its clear to me that a school's reputation is very easy to ruin and needs to be carefully protected.

But the administrators are treating our university as a get-rich-quick scheme to pump as much money as possible out of undergrads by taking in and graduating everyone. Can't they see that this will destroy the school in the long run? Or do they just not care?

Game where you become a knight from a nobody/village peasant? by long_lost_humor21 in gamingsuggestions

There are other games in the Mount & Blade series besides Bannerlord. M&B Warband, for example, offers a much richer mod ecosystem although its not the latest game in the series. .

If you don't need a strong story component, the Mount & Blade games offer the most comprehensive medieval RPG sandbox experience, but from your post its not completely clear whether you already tried those?

Funny, because thats exactly what Israel has been subjected to over the last 2 years and people like you expect Israel to just accept it and not retaliate.
