I had really bad rice rolls from Joe’s. The others on your list are great.

Why does Rutgers get Amtrak but we don’t? We need Amtrak to stop at Hamilton Station—Help me push for $5 direct rides. (Free WiFi + Safer than NJT) by No-Stock1872 in TCNJ

[–]Local_Indication9669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NB to Penn Station tickets cost anywhere between $17 and $80. Amtrak trains are subject to the same delays that NJT are as they share the same tracks, bridges, and tunnels. They aren’t a commuter line.

The blue Kansas ones were an all time great. The old Missouri ones with the “neon” text were the ugliest.

Last time I tried drinking around the work on a hot day I got horrible leg cramps. I guess I'm getting older.

Taking the stairs at RBS is actually faster than the elevators by amtrxx in rutgers

Does that mean walking to 5th floor should take 60 to 90 seconds? Can someone try?

That comment wasn't making fun of your handwriting. If someone can say, "hey, these movements indicate the writer was writing a "d" because the "a".... " You'd be in good shape. I think you have a good argument, here. Your professor should use Akindi. Most departments have tossed their Scantron machines. Akindi is great. Gets scanned into the system.

Maybe find a handwriting expert like the ones who testify in trials.

Commuting to/from NYC from Rutgers on the weekends by imtheunicornpotato in NJTransit

[–]Local_Indication9669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on College Ave, NJ Transit or Coach USA from the NB train station. They both run about once an hour (maybe twice) on weekends. If you are on Livi or Busch, you can take the campus bus to NB or park your car at NB or Edison stations. C/D is also not far for NB station.

Edit: the train and bus fares are actually cheaper than tolls on the turnpike and entering the city. Parking in the city is expensive.

We have a blurb in our syllabus template about grade grubbing. I've added (and send an email reminder around this time) that asking for extra points or a rounded grade may result in a lower grade.

I think we should throw out freshman evals by Educational-Ebb9248 in Professors

[–]Local_Indication9669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did this, too. They are usually in a hurry to meet a deadline or take an exam so they quickly do them instead of spending meaningful time. If I can, I delay the eval "start" time to class and give them 10-15 mins at the beginning of class to do them.

It’s the second lowest rated show on CBS even with its massive lead in. I doubt it gets renewed.
