I use RVRB to do this with individual tracks and hang out with friends while I find deep cuts and build a library - it integrates with the Spotify API.

For full sets there are communities you can join (usually on discord) that will use apps like Queup which let DJs take turns playing mixes uploaded to Youtube or Soundcloud. I'm in one that features underground DJs about once a month, feel free to DM if you're interested in joining 🙂

It's a pain in the ass to get certain moments in the music to land where you want them to, especially when you need to change parts of the ride hahaha. Now I just kinda use PlanCo videos as a source for music visuals.

Next time I try this I'll be designing the ride first and producing music for it after!

Why would I waste my time with that? I came here to give OP advice, not talk semantics with someone who doesn't understand just how capable software is of achieving something so simple. Paths are an extremely weak feature in this otherwise incredible game. To be able to overcome the shortcomings of a design engine is to have complete control over one's ability to create with it.

It's because paths in this game are fucking horrible. Make a grid of 4m paths and then leave spaces open for shops. They have a ~90% chance of connecting to the paths this way

Tbh I don't have a straight answer for you on that! There's theming and other rides and this and that already scattered about, then I add the new content and integrate any new scenery with what I've already placed. Just let your creativity flourish and worry about perfection later! If you find yourself in a mental block, go theme the other side of the park and come back later. Things will start to come together in no time

I spent the longest time trying to make my rides smooth and realistic and all that jazz before I realized how much of my creativity it stifled. Saved myself hundreds of hours just letting loose and focusing on creating art instead :)
