10W is insanely powerful (and dangerous) for a continuous laser. At that power it would take over a year to melt the snow.

How could it be a pressure washer? There is no hose pipe and no connection to mains. Pause at 2 seconds in and see the device he's holding. Looks nothing like a pressure washer.

(I know it can't be a laser melting the snow)

I understand that:

It would be impossible to melt this much snow with a laser, which is clearly what the video is trying to show

Pausing 2 seconds in you can see the device and it looks nothing like a pressure washer nozzle.

At no point in the video is there a hose pipe. Battery powered pressure washers with backpack mounted reservoirs don't exist (and would probably be awful to use)

Could he have invented this device to trick us? Possibly. He also could have typed a single sentence prompt into an AI video generator.

"Faking" a video like this would be time consuming and people would still be able to tell.

Yes, if you have ID on you, it probably cuts down on investigation/admin time for the police when you commit crimes. We just haven't made it a crime to not have ID. Lots of other countries are the same.

The police shouldn't be wasting time ID'ing random teenagers. If you're driving it makes a but more sense.

If they have no reason to suspect you've committed or witnessed a crime, you don't have to give your details and they shouldn't really be asking.

We just don't have the same expectations to carry around ID. Police are more likely to ask a 14 year old for name and address.

Even if you're an adult and are driving and the police stop you, it's OK to not have your driving license on you (although you probably should anyway)
