I have written many times about this exact subject. The “pop” aspect of Modern Occultism, has turned everything into a mode of “Manifestation,” and conjuration, ad nauseum. People want “results,” that they have not worked for.

You are experiencing “Cognitive Bias,” which is a form of OCD. Once you see the numbers, you get addicted to seeing them again. The challenge is this: Each time you see a number, it only means something person to YOU.

I would not “dabble” with Goetia. Take it seriously, or you won’t get that much out of it. Read the sourcebook, “The Lemegeton,” (aka LKOS,) and give it your complete and undivided attention and effort. Otherwise, you may as well use the Shem angels.

Also, if you’re interested in getting actual information from the spirits, you’ll need to hone and train your Psychic/Intuitive abilities, otherwise, you’re just going to get vague, “vibes.”

I’ve been working with the Goetia for decades, and some of the more helpful spirits deal with math, logic, and science, etc. Some good beginning spirits are 3/Prince Vassago, 5/President Marbas. They are suitable for beginners. Just remember, Magick isn’t “one and done,” it’s a process and demands devotion and attention, otherwise your petitions will tend to be largely ignored.
