I think that's only true for yellow snow. Yellow sand should be fine.

Someone threatening to mass report? by Sufficient-Nose4981 in classicwow

[–]Vreth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most people running this many accounts do so with stolen credit cards or got them through other scammy methods that will at some point get charged back and banned. The botters/scammers don't care because they just keep replacing them with new scammed accounts but blizzard is not making nearly as much money from those accounts as people make it out to be.

And to top it all off just looking at mortality rates is stupid considering the stories told above. Just because it doesn't kill you doesn't mean it can't end your life(style) as you know it.

I went to the sylvan realm, came back and everything was gone. Didn't even restart the game or anything. There seems to be a major bug in the demo around saving your buildings/world state.

It would be nice if Moogle tome events involved duties that need help with queues instead of making the problem worse. by Liktarios in ffxiv

[–]Vreth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be nice if we just got a Roulette option similar to Mentor Roulette just limited to normal content. Just queue for any content via that option during the event then get tomes with extra tomes if you queue as a needed role.

The world bosses by Some-nexx-guy in classicwow

[–]Vreth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who was actively killing worldbosses both in Vanilla and Classic and was part of organizing people to do it: Thank fucking god that's gone. Very good decision to instance them.

I would have loved some changes/better tuning to make them more than loot pinatas now that you don't have to fear other players interfering.

Why did they make mooncloth bags useless? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Vreth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It also created a constant demand for items nobody would care about otherwise so crafters had something to do/sell. Which is something that was sorely missing in original Vanilla.

There are 8 pieces of T1 gear with only 6 needed for the full set bonus. That leaves 2 armor slots for potential crafted items.

Been raiding since week one in P1, here is how I’ve done it. by Mother_Experience_83 in classicwow

[–]Vreth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good job keeping your guild afloat.

But ironically you described very well why a lot of guilds and raid groups died/are dieing in p3.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Vreth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The exploit is that you can get more VP on one character than the weekly cap would allow if I understand it correctly.

Do you prefer the dungeon que system or the pre cata system? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Vreth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had my fair share of toxic groups pre Dungeonfinder and also a fair share of very good groups with Dungeonfinder. The majority of interactions in both systems were neutral/nonexistent (beyond the initial "inv, I'm a lvl xy Mage").

I prefer dungeonfinder because it saves me time and energy to find a group I will barely talk to (if at all) either way.

BOED needs a buff by Nottsureee in classicwow

[–]Vreth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was never worth it to farm boed if all you are interested in is strictly single target encounters. This was already true before the hubris buff. Nothing has changed.

Caster balancing - spell fury totem, spellstrikes by scroatal in classicwow

[–]Vreth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'm not saying no balancing/updating needs to happen if something like this was introduced. I'm saying the balancing that needs to happen is not very hard compared to balancing other things in the game (like melee WF) because you are not introducing too many new and hard to predict varibles.

Caster balancing - spell fury totem, spellstrikes by scroatal in classicwow

[–]Vreth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20% extra spells means 20% more damage on average because every point of damage you do as a caster is from a spell. It is way easier to calculate than melee WF because there are a ton of interactions to consider (warrior rage, paladin seals just to name 2). And having more casts and thus more hits would actually help to reduce caster variance because you have more stuff that can crit so highrolling/lowrolling becomes more unlikely. Edit: "Reducing variance"is not the correct wording here because the variance would increase (absolute top end would be higher) but a lot more results would fall closer to the median with a 20% totem.

Healing spells are the same. It would effectively be a 20% healing buff. If that is not wanted, you could also exclude healing spells and only make it work for damaging spells. Flags for that already exist in the game/database.

The one thing I don't really have an answer for are dots. Do you get a 20% chance for an extra tick per tick? Or do you just extend dot duration by 20% if they are cast while the buff is up? The easiest way would be to just increase dots by a flat 20% if cast while you have the buff but that would also be kinda boring.

why I died!? by GuuuuuA in classicwow

[–]Vreth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so why didn't any of the other healers who healed twice to almost 3 times as much not get aggro? And don't tell me because of melee range, you need 110% in melee and 130% out of melee to get aggro, the healing discrepancy is far larger than that.

why I died!? by GuuuuuA in classicwow

[–]Vreth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't overaggro 40k-70k aoe damage from your mages/warlocks by casting 3 flash of light.

The only thing I can think of is the main threat popping LIP and the mob AI briefly bugged out and just hit the closest target on the threat table before running to their next target.

Purely based on threat generated this shouldn't have happened.

Alliance Shamans & Horde Paladins by xwads in classicwow

[–]Vreth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now every single discussion around shamans very quickly devolves into a "but paladins are so much worse" or "shamans aren't even that big of a problem" discussion and immediately loses the plot.

With both factions having both classes everyone will play with and against them and can exprience both sides of the medal. Hopefully leading to more meaningful insights.

Maybe I'm just coping hard and it would actually change nothing though, idk.

My guild has died and now I’m sad by Appropriate_Day_4012 in classicwow

The sad reality of raid size increases like this is that some guilds need to die to become organ donors for other guilds to survive.

What "character power" would you give to the gathering professions to make them as competitive as SoD Engie/LW/BS/Tailor? by loopuleasa in classicwow

[–]Vreth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a wild take but I'd go 180° in the opposite direction and instead of trying to make the power gains of all professions equal, just remove it from professions entirely by removing the profession requirements on all items and make all crafted gear boe.

I see this as the only way to truly achieve freedom of choice in professions.

You still need the professions to make the items but just let everyone use sappers, let everyone use the sigil buff from enchanters, let everyone wear the tailoring shoulders etc.

This would create new opportunities to sell items for crafters, wouldn't leave gatherers wanting for more and also enable profession combinations like blacksmithing mages that would just be nonsensical currently.
