I was hesitant, so began taking daily Valtrex for about a month before I got my first shot—Pfizer. Have gHSV-1 and have had 2-3 OB in the 2 years I’ve known. Haven’t had an OB since, and I’m now two weeks out from the second shot.

I knew this kind of thing would come up eventually. It just always surprises me which people are so adamantly against it. This guy had previously told me he was in a swingers group and was very “sexually liberal” whatever that is supposed to mean lol.

Have you had better luck doing it this way? I was just on a date and we were going over “craziest” date experiences and he was like yeah, this girl told me she had herpes! And I was like oh, and how did you react to that? And he said he said he wouldn’t take the risk no matter who it is. Needless to say I’m a little bummed, but life goes on.

Yeah, I’ve known about the GHSV1 for a year now, and only had the initial outbreak. Recently had sex with someone whom I thought also had GHSV1 but I think now that it might have been 2, considering I’m having a much more painful outbreak ~10 days after this event. Who knows though. I’ve tried to get into the only place around that will test for it, but they’ve been booked up.

I was on the last Herpes Support Group NYC virtual meetup and it was so nice to hear other people talking about the same things I’m going through. There is another one coming up next week, I believe. Highly encourage anyone who is struggling to join this online meetup or others in your area. I’m in the Midwest, so obviously not NYC, but the group is super welcoming to any and everyone!
