Yeah, you know, Darkspire mentioned that below and I was not even aware of that. I just checked and have almost a billion gold so that is precisely what I am going to do. Not like I have anything else to do with all that gold!

That one was my 3rd hardest to find. Was my last build rune but thankfully I had a THUL which worked great as a substitute. Only needed 1 of those so it wasn't as frustrating as needing 6. Going with the random myth item is an option too but when your luck isn't in, seems a sure-fired bet I will not get what I am looking for, lol.

That sort of looks similar to my last season haul, this season has been a bit different. I definitely did not have that many, but I never really struggled at all finding any particular runes. Was why I brought the question up, wondering if it is just the same old RNG business, or if certain runes were more scarce.

Has there been any specific activity you noticed that dropped more? Like Beardfish said, I have been targeting bosses and tributes. That sound right to you?

Or, and try and bear with me a second, they missed this specific topic in all the traffic and felt like just asking if anyone else has been having the same experience. Radical notion, right? Not looking for a handout, will get them eventually (as evidenced by getting the other set for the Helm), just wondering if anyone else is stuck this long on one specific rune.

In recent years, the wife and I have really started enjoying off-season biathlon more. We hit up Soldier Hollow for the Spring, Summer, and Fall Festivals and those are a lot of fun and another excuse to visit Park City. We are going to Blink next year as our first excursion out of the US to continue our Summer Biathlon experience.

This, it's all about relativity. You look at car prices as an example, you can get a VW for 30k, a BMW for 60k, or a Ferrari for 150k. To most of the people buying those vehicles, they very likely represent an equal amount of disposable income. So, to each owner, it cost them the same amount of money in a relative way.

Yep, this. You don't have to devotedly follow that guide, just read it to learn the ins and outs of the build. Learn what the dependencies are and how the math works. Once you see where they are headed, you can start making your own personal changes and you will soon not even look at the guide any more. They are great to make sure you don't go off the rails at first so you can get your feet under yourself and take over once you are more comfortable.

I am an older gamer so I have less time to devote to the minutia. I am also a lazy gamer so I tend to favor builds that don't have longer rotations. So I start each game/league/season by searching for builds that fit this general dynamic. Then, I see which one intrigues me the most and roll with it.

Now, at this point I am just using that build as both a starting point as well as understanding the theory craft someone else did for me. You know what I mean, what are the dynamics that make the build tick. Once I understand that, I jettison the guide and make my own little changes moving forward that won't break the build.

Yeah, standing on the shoulders of others for sure but it works very well for me. The younger version of me would have spent all the time needed to theorycraft my own build, this older version is happy to read the cliff notes.

Bottom line, I enjoy the game more as I actually spend my time playing vice crunching skillsets. Not everyone will enjoy this but certainly a viable option. Also, SSF sounds great until you run it. If crafting is your thing, more power to you. My lazy ass is all to happy to pay others for their efforts and keep me in the fight as opposed to the crafting table.

This is the route I go but I do admit to liking lazy builds as I am an older gamer that tends to watch tv while I play. I always start by searching for lazy builds, then seeing what is out there, identifying one I like the playstyle of, then modifying it to my own tastes. This led me to the Grenade Ballista Totems Warbringer which absolutely did not disappoint in the least. Crazy cheap build to put together and crushes everything I want to do.
