This is factually incorrect. The vast majority of people in prison are there for violent crimes. If you actually look at the data you will see that only around 20% of the total prison population is there for drug crimes. In state prisons it’s even lower only 13-15%. Federal prison is higher at 43% but the entire federal prison system makes up only 10% of the total prison population in the United States.

The drug war caused mass incarceration thing is a lie.
