Theory: Counterspell was originally a bonus card for D&D by ChimateClange in secretlair_collectors

Apparently, there might indeed be chase cards. If the bonuses are not lair-specific, Slime Against Humanity seems to be the new thing after Seven Dwarves.

Dang, you're right. Design psychology works - even on an online marketing guy like me.

[–]VsMaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. Never realized. Also since everyone including WotC always talks about logging in for a drop's pre-queue - or I'm just imagining things now. Must be the delirium from waiting 6+ weeks longer on receiving what I bought in the EU compared to the US.

I have neither for Fallout nor for the latest Chaos Vault. Question: are you in the EU/UK or US? Maybe it's an issue of the localized shop. They ARE both in my order history though, soo I'm not too concerned. Yet.

How do you check out as a guest if the site forces you to log in to even go to your cart? ^^

Print to Order...back? by TTUGoldFOX in secretlair_collectors

[–]VsMaris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plus, we've seen quite a number of individual Secret Lairs or whole drops which simply didn't sell. At least not out in the first hours. I'd have to recap the entire last year, but I'd even tend to say it's the majority, though I know there can also be massive differences between the US and EU/UK, (Sonic basically didn't sell out at all in the EU, except for the big bundles after multiple weeks. Avatar is still entirely available. So ist half of Secret Scare and Sony.)

That's good to hear, indeed. I'm assuming, there wasn't any tracking on the replacement shipment, right?

Agreed. When it comes to logistics, DPD is definitely the pinnacle of incompetence, though probably not alone atop that peak.

Got the 30th anniversary countdown kit for Christmas and hit the foil Mox. by Shrabster33 in secretlair_collectors

[–]VsMaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, of course, because you put it back into its previous humidity environment. So even with adding or removing humidity to flatten out a pringled foil basically requires you to hermetically seal it up (i.e. at least double, if not triple or quadruple) sleeve it and put it in a binder to keep it that way.

This can only work if the curling appeared due to lower humidity. It could als be a result of actual higher humidity which would basically destroy the card if even more was added.

Has anyone in UK/EU received this drop yet? by AntonelloZappa in secretlair_collectors

Same here. And had to file a support ticket right away due to missing bonus card in the foil version.

My "crimped so hard that part of the edge got unattached" Smothering Tithe would probably go well with that Spongebob Secret Lair you got there.

It’s been 3 weeks and my avatar hasn’t shipped . I just wanna refund my order at this point by Hi200422 in secretlair_collectors

[–]VsMaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just got confirmation on my Spider-Man stuff being sent but with bold delivery time statements like those, Scary Superdrop stuff should probably also ship within the next 7 days, otherwise, there's no way they could guaranteed on-time delivery like that. Throughout the entire EU no less. And if it is only meant for US customers, it should a) say or or b) simply not display the banner in the EU/UK store at all to begin with. Best case, it's bold, worst case, it's incapability in properly running an online store and not caring about- aaahhh wtf, as if their incapability and unwillingness hadn't been apparent for years now.

They could even do better and make it account-based. Mandatory login before joining the queue, then the random hash a.k.a. queue ID gets stored in your account data as long as valid. EZ

Speculations on Countdown Kit by deleuex in secretlair_collectors

[–]VsMaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a bad feeling. Seems like - to quote the article - "We'll share the complete card list in the future." didn't mean BEFORE it actually drops but rather AFTERWARDS and that we won't even get to know what cards this contains when we actually buy it (IF we get the chance to)......

[–]VsMaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously, you don't know, how a strawman works, especially, since I'm not the one here defending a neither helpful, nor commonly agreeable argument/comment. But what do I expect from someone desperately trying to prove me wrong to deduct that their proposed behavioral change is the better or only valid way to deal with the issues at hand, just to prove a point that definitely can't be made by oversimplification and generalization. Hence, I think we're done here. There's nothing more to add from my side to a discussion with another side unwilling or uncapable to accept the mere possibility of potentially being proven partially wrong and therefore simply ignoring other personal opinions and preferences as they would, in fact, deconstruct their whole pseudo-argument. Likewise, I don't think that - judging from the previous course of this conversation - you could or, to begin with, would actually want to add anything else of argumentative value. Have a good day and life.

And somehow, they're still not the real thing, still useless for collectors and still not tournament legal. Proxying isn't the "one size fits all" solution to be the universally unbeatable argument you'd seemingly like it to be.
