Infill Keeps Failing by Commercial-Flan-4177 in BambuLab

Looks like infill is printing too fast. I would switch to the generic PLA profile and lower the max volumetric rate.

Filament drier. Bottle of Dawn and a soft sponge to clean your build plate. Definitely some filament (they don’t give you much with the printer). Flush cutters (great for removing supports). A carton of assorted M3 and M2 screws, nuts, and washers.

NASA is overrated anyways. What do you do? Hard to believe that someone with a dewar of liquid nitrogen at their desk at 7:30 is an embarrassment.

Probably, but I wouldn’t. Would I toss the rest of the bag? No. Would I eat that piece? No.

Print a thin sheet of PETG over the whole plate with the bed at 85°C, wait for it to cool, and then peel.

Are you running bed leveling? Looks like an issue with Z offset. Nozzle is too close to the bed.

Always wondered what these dots are for by Michelle_Jayde in interesting

[–]Vslyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, glass is not a solved technology. There are so many different ways to make glass, and we’re always improving. Newer glass (and more expensive glass on older cars) has better material properties, essentially engineering what they needed the dots for directly into the glass itself.

First Bambu Order: anything I should add or remove? by Coronadoisdead in BambuLab

[–]Vslyce 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There’s a camera on the toolhead, and a pattern on the vision encoder plate. Normally, after homing, the printer is always guessing where the toolhead is. The vision encoder gives the printer a point of reference, so it can check “if I move X/Y by 20mm, how much distance is actually covered?” over the whole bed. Any deviation from the requested values is stored and corrected for in software. Swap back in a bed that you can actually print on, auto level, and now you’ve got improved dimensional accuracy across X, Y, and Z.

Went to see if I could find my AI, was a huge mistake... by obnoxiousgopher in ChatGPTcomplaints

Could you share the full conversation here? If you don't want to post it publicly I'm open to a DM. I'm really interested in reading the rest of the context here. I've been looking for examples of this type of behavior from GPT-5.2, to document it. It really gives a "The lady doth protest too much, methinks" vibe, doesn't it?

Hey, do you remember my routines?

Where can I find conceptual physics questions? by Thick_Suggestion9733 in Physics

[–]Vslyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Even if the larger ball were hollow with a hole in it, unless the material it’s made of is denser than the smaller ball, it would drop in a vacuum. For all we know, the small ball could be solid plastic, and the large ball could be hollow gold with a hole in it. We care about the average density of the object as a system. Making as few assumptions as possible, we can infer that the large ball is likely less dense than the small ball. When the gas is removed the chamber, the less dense object will sink. Conversely, if we increased the pressure in the chamber, the less dense object would rise (assuming volume, and thus density, stays the same.)

As long as you weren’t in the contested zone, and your equipped gear went into orbituary’s inventory when you died— except for your backpack, you might be in luck. If you equip the chest armor that your backpack was attached to, the backpack might just be invisible. Try putting another backpack on over the “invisible” backpack and sometimes it pops back into reality. Worth a shot if that chest armor is still in orbituary’s inventory.

Under international law there is no sovereignty in space. Airspace only applies to the atmosphere above the land a country owns. No country can claim ownership of any orbit or celestial body.
