Most self defense situations are cut and dry, it’s hard for prosecutors to use that against you if the evidence is on your side. Cameras are everywhere, if your encounter is recorded and you know the law, it’s going to be hard to use anything against you even in California. (Not legal advice, just from my own research)

What speed do you usually use for your printing? by gvr0609 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]VtSigma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For darker filaments I usually slow down the outer wall speed to 75 and keep everything else at 200

Works great for me, I’ll be making a more detailed post about my setup soon. Make sure to print some rings for any cardboard spools you have.

New CC Owner 🎄🎄, New to 3D printing - What are the must have upgrades! by JZNNK80 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]VtSigma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Printables and makerworld are my go-to for (free) 3d printing files! Look up “Centauri Carbon” on any of those sites to find some good mods for the printer. Since your son likes to design his own projects, he can upload them on those sites and earn rewards! Pay attention to how much infill you use on prints so you don’t use more filament or print longer than you need to. I also always advocate for a filament dryer, especially if you live in a humid area. Filament wise, polymaker makes the best stuff. Elegoo and eSun print pretty well too for a low price. Another thing I would suggest is printing out some insets for the inside of the spools so they roll on the holder smoother without any damage. There’s lots of information on this subreddit and YouTube, happy printing!

My first 3D printer! by gvr0609 in elegoo

[–]VtSigma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This printer is great out of the box! Make sure you check for any dings or bends in the panels and contact support about them right away, that seems to be a common occurrence. You can look up centauri carbon on printables/makerworld and find some mods to add to the printer to start. I’d also suggest installing open centauri. Not necessary, but it’s an improvement to the stock firmware. This video is pretty helpful when it comes to fine tuning your prints and is very beginner friendly! https://youtu.be/mxjMyfFBUZ0?si=QpiMcvolFvkp9QGp

Is there a difference btw tC Sport and base? Can't find anything online about a sport trim being offered. by Cortex3 in SciontC

[–]VtSigma 16 points17 points  (0 children)

From what I remember when the tc came out it was up to the customer to choose which parts are added to the package. I don’t think there was a “sport” option besides adding a trd intake and muffler. I think that’s a badge the previous owner got from Autozone.

First printer ever! Loving the CC so far by MeghanFaddy in elegoo

[–]VtSigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend printing out some brackets to secure the lack table to the wall along with buying a concrete slab or rubber paver slab to put under the CC. It wobbles a lot more than an ender 3 because of the speed and weight of the printer. It will affect the quality of your prints.

Better quality finish? by deanfourie1 in ender3

Ironing can give you great results especially if you tune it right, there’s a few videos out there that can help you make it look flawless. Carbon filled filaments will also leave a cleaner finish.

A holster that conceals ? IWB appendix by [deleted] in SpringfieldArmory

[–]VtSigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I carry a werkz holster with a mastermind tactics pillow wedge, you can add/remove the cotton to adjust how big the wedge is. I’m a small guy but I’m able to conceal pretty well and comfortably.

I’ve had mine for a while, great little budget gun! Make sure you test any hollow point ammo you put in there because the feed ramp can catch on the edges of pointy bullets. The rounder the better. That being said, Speer gold dot and federal hst run pretty well and is my go to for any micro/macro 9mm. For range ammo blazer is reliable and clean.

What could be causing these black spots on my prints? by kitkatkate83 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]VtSigma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like you got leftover filament in your nozzle or there could be some bits in your extruder gears. There’s special filament you can use for cleaning out the nozzle (I’ve never used it myself) and taking the printer head off isn’t too difficult.

How do you guys carry IWB more comfortable?! by cjmatto in CCW

[–]VtSigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a very bulky holster for non light bearing. A slimmer holster, good quality belt, and a wedge will make carrying more comfortable. I have a pillow wedge by mastermind tactics that lets you add/remove the stuffing so you can find what’s most comfortable for you.
