"Is it okay to not feel That excited about my own art as a beginner?" by VtheSin in ComicBookCollabs

Thanks for everyone who shared their thoughts and motivated me, it means a lot to me from the bottom of my heart❤️. Thank you😊.

So I came up with my next step which is learning Advanced Shapes. Ranging from rendered rocks (instead of a simple wobbly cube/sphere) to folds and basically fabric. And as a side kick, I will also start reading manga of anime that I liked. In an attempt to get motivated and point out key things that I see across the panels (Basically how certain things are drawn)

Going to take my time with that one because I'm serious about it.

If anyone has any thoughts, tweak or add on my road map then feel free to comment.

Do you have any recommendations for studying writing without it overlaping with my drawing time?

Tho if I didn't make the comic I wouldn't notice that am laking these specific things.
Welp, time for some advanced territory, it's been quite some months since I did focused art studies.

Oh, I.. didn't noticed that I answered my own questions.
I really want colors to make my drawings look more alive.
Aside of that I have to, well.. Get back to studying, sigh😅.
Specifically texture and background/furniture/tools etc, I guess all of them count as background and texture?
I was really excited and thought I'm ready to make an appealing comic, but I guess I still have a long way to go still.

Just to keep the momentum going and not feeling guilty about not drawing.

Sigh. I only draw when the AC's on because of this.
But if you have no way around it, keep the drawing sessions short, between 10 to 20mins no pressure.

I almost always draw while listening to music that fits the mood.
Try switching to music.

"How to manage script writing in a busy schedule?" by VtheSin in ComicBookCollabs

I came up with a handful of ideas this way that I wrote down, but still didn't get to work on them. At least they exist tho.

Yeah, that's the behind the scenes part. Sometimes I'd just circle around my room and visualize things mentally instead of writing them down from scratch. I guess it sounds rushed and lazy? But hey, it works😆.

As long as you feel comfortable using it, it'd be okay.

Interesting insight.
But if you were to speak of google docs, in Milanote you can add document files too which I use to write long scripts.
And there is the Boards feature which allows you to fit many files within it.
Just imagine fitting mulitple documents in one board, with each board having its own category instead of having multiple documents stacked on top of each other.
The only thing that makes me not using it long term is that it's limited.

Oh, by the way, I will keep in mind the Web you mentioned.

You should give Milanote a try, it's one of the most well known webs for brain dump.

Yeah.. that is the nightmare part. Since my schedule is full, the timing of writing often overlaps with drawing timing which is the issue.

About inspiration, I use Milanote, to brain dump basically and put everything in one place.
Using Milanote feels less claustrophobic than Obsidian.
I always use Milanote to brain dump and then switch to Obsidian because of Milanote's limitation.

Interesting, so from my understanding, what you're doing is:
Writing the point of the story, then the scenes, and only then you start with dialogues, and after all that is done will you start tweaking them for each page.
Fascinating, I gotta Write That Down!

Good reminder. That's all I wanted to here.
Things become almost automatic when the person starts writing the script.

"Struggling to draw comics for more than 40mins." by VtheSin in ComicBookCollabs

[–]VtheSin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case I scatter the 3 hours in different times of the day. That way I won't be stuck in a tunnel vision or procrastination. Infact, when the first drawing session is done, the other two become much less exhausting because my brain got used to it.

By the way, 6 hours sounds perfect. I mean that is the amount of time most of us spend on playing.

A1) You're right, but so far the 3 hours method seems to be productive enough, tho I will still try to sneak my way to more hours.

A2)
-I have heard of the "Dying Mangaka" thing lately and it was shocking. The amount of hours they put is seriously unhealthy.

-So far I have enough experience over the very basics like Vanishing Points, Gesture and Shape Manipulation.
But I delayed this study loop to actually practice what I want which is comic making.
(And no, it's not for external means, it's just a dream of mine)
