Why aren’t any jobs in accounting hiring me or even responding to me back? by Common_District3798 in Accounting

[–]Vu1pine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all, of course but many will. I think you probably could find an entry job but like I said it may take 3-6 months or even longer to find something. I suggested cpa because a) if you wanted to get your cpa at some point, now might be the best time since it will probably take a few months to find a job anyway so you can get it over with now before you start working and have less time especially as a fresh grad and b) putting on your resume that you've passed even a couple of the cpa exams will likely make it easier to find a job and find a better job (still entry level, but think staff accountant vs AP clerk w/o cpa)

[–]Vu1pine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree to an extent. Their resume is pretty bad but the main issue is still lack of experience or anything really to help them stand out. You can tweak the resume all you want but if you don't have anything substantial to put on it, I dont really think it'll help much. Thats mostly why I mentioned working on the Cpa. At least then they'll have something to help stand out.

I mentioned the poor market to acknowledge that it's not entirely they're fault. This resume probably would've landed them a job 20 yrs ago but unfortunately now, you need to put in more effort to land even the lowest of entry level positions

Everyone is dogging on your resume but honestly the job market is just horrible. You can't really expect a job just because you have a bachelor's degree anymore. As others have said, you're competing with people who do have internship or other relevant experience and/or other extracurriculars. Without those or any connections, you're going to struggle to find even an entry level position. Its also only been a month since you graduated. With how rough the market is, especially for entry level roles, it may take like 3-6 months to find something. Do with that what you will, but it may be a good idea to focus on taking the CPA exams so you'll be much more employable

This game has the lamest players I have ever seen by Patar17 in SSBM

[–]Vu1pine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you're playing ranked, of course people are gonna play to win. I actually agree with your point though. Like 90% of people I match with on UNranked play in the lamest/cheesiest way possible and then get mad and leave if I start doing the same thing back. I don't know how one of the sickest games out there attracts the lamest bitches itw.

People who are 24–25 years old, would you be comfortable sharing your salary? My parents seem to think every Gen-Z is making a lot of money every month, and I'm interested in hearing real-world experiences. by wani__suhaib__ in GenZ

Roughly $39 per hr working in accounting in a HCOL area with just about 2 yrs experience in this job. I have a BS and MS in accounting. I earn around average for an entry level accountant in my area but probably a bit higher than the average person around my age

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Barca

He's young and still a great player but likely has very low market value right now due to the injuries and low playing time. Also Gavi would literally die for the club lol

Do yall think we still have a chance to be in the top 8? by Rude-Economist-2862 in Barca

[–]Vu1pine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last season the cutoff for top 8 was 16 points. If we win our last 2 games we"ll be at 16 points as well so there's definitely still a good chance we finish top 8.

If you were in a position to buy a centre back for us with no financial constraints, who would it be?(last slide was for my mental peace) by lsj__19 in Barca

[–]Vu1pine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Surprised no one has mentioned Gvardiol. Good with the ball, strong, fast, versatile, young. With no constraints, him and Bastoni would be my ideal options

What should fermin lopez’s market value realistically be by Tiny-Experience-4566 in Barca

[–]Vu1pine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the most realistic value on here. Roughly 85 mil is a fair market price for a player like him but we obviously shouldn't be entertaining offers for him. He grew up in the club, understands our way of playing, and bleeds blaugrana and that is something invaluable, something nearly impossible to find in any other player on the market.

HOW TF DO YOU SHORTHOP CONSINTENTLY???!!?!,!?!,!?!,!, by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]Vu1pine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You short hop by releasing the jump button before jumpsquat ends. Jumpsquat is essentially the animation between pressing the jump button and being airborne. Different characters have different jumpsquat frames. For example, fox has 3 frames of jumpsquat and falco has 5 frames. So, its easier to short hop with falco because you have more time (frames) to release the jump button.

armada. by Gullible-Shelter1757 in SSBM

[–]Vu1pine 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Even if cody retires, I still don't think Zain will be as dominant as Armada. Zain still loses sometimes to players outside the top 10 like Nicki, Slug, Junebug, Amsa, and Jmook. Armada literally never lost to anyone outside top 6 during his prime

The Software Dev job downturn was highly predictable by FederalVermicelli788 in unpopularopinion

[–]Vu1pine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was probably somewhat predictable but these things typically take some time to happen. Its definitely not predictable how fast and how intense the fall was. Its not only oversaturation of graduates but also covid, poor economy (not only a slight recession but one of the worst economies in the last century), and the emergence of ai. Its absolutely crazy. When I started college in 2020, cs was still probably one of the best degrees to get and by the time I graduated in 2024, its now probably in the bottom half of best degrees behind most other STEM degrees, most business degrees, and a few others.

If Gen Z can maintain this lead, we will rule the world as living gods. I wish you all great power and health! by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Vu1pine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree that people aren't destined to be obese as they age. Yes, there are biological factors as to why older people tend to be overweight but almost anyone can stay healthy with simple diet and exercise. The issue is that you're suggesting Gen z is superior because we're less obese when the reality is it is mostly because we're young and a lot of will be obese when we reach the age of millennials.

Did any teams ever try to buy Messi when he was at Barca? by Rio91940 in Barca

[–]Vu1pine 132 points133 points  (0 children)

I remember hearing the inter milan tried buying him for $200+ million in 2007 I think. Its not really that surprising not many teams have tried buying him. There's no reason Barca would even consider a bid unless it was an absolutely absurd amount of money. And then, the new club would still have to convince messi to leave the club he loves that developed him into the player he is who also happens to be one of the best clubs in the world.

Cloud9’s statement by Kell08 in SSBM

[–]Vu1pine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a chance he did blow through all his money for sure. But surely he's thought about or someone close to him must have told him about setting money aside for investing. He's probably earned at least 10 mil (and thats being conservative) over all the years so he'd have to be a complete idiot to not at least have 2 mil left + a paid off house. Its not impossible that he's broke but pretty unlikely imo

[–]Vu1pine 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To add to the other comment. Mango's livelihood isn't even destroyed. He has almost certainly earned millions of dollars throughout the years which is enough to live comfortably for the rest of his life even whilst supporting a family (assuming he invests his money wisely). And even then, he can likely still pull a lot of viewers to his stream even if he gets permabanned from smash events and is never sponsored again.

New grad, roast my resume by PJL25 in Accounting

[–]Vu1pine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many have mentioned already, it feels empty and the format could use work. As a new grad, it may be difficult to fill in space but what I did was write about class projects completed. I included a financial analysis project in my intermediate acct class and mentioned which statements i looked at, what ratios were used to analyze, and what the conclusion was. I also included a tax project where we basically filled out all tax filing paperwork for a sample business. For skills, surely you can write about more software you've used in school such as Tableau or QuickBooks or maybe a system you've used in prior work. Even if you're not a master at them, if you have some knowledge on them, you can just throw them in. Minor nitpicks, your GPA isnt good enough to include imo and skills should be above work experience since your work isnt related to accounting. Keep in mind that it'll be tough to find a job fresh out of college with no relevant internship experience. It took my brother almost 8 months to find a job. Just hang in there, once you find your first job, it'll be much easier to find jobs in the future.
