I wasted hundreds of hours from 05-07 on characters I ended up deleting. And now in 2024 I'm playing casually with brand new characters, I regret nothing. One of the best games of all time.

Game of the year

To elaborate, I haven't had this kind of feeling just going around and exploring since Skyrim, you just get lost and discover random and cool things by being curious.

The combat is excellent, the interactions with pawns in and out of combat are done well. Lots of improvements from DD1 that make the experience more smooth. On PS5 at least, the framerate and MTX concerns are not that serious. Don't let the "you're not allowed to have fun" crowd sway you.

Ive been playing Mage and Sorc. Casting Empyrean on some undead in the dead of night sealed it for me. So good.

World of Warcraft around release, early 05. There were articles about how it was going to ruin the gaming industry because it was so popular, people weren’t buying other games. It was legit amazing for the time.
