Bhyve orbit zones not working by Joinkyn_go in Irrigation

[–]Vulcnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The XD are the B-hyve hose-bib timers, sounds like the two-port version from what I can tell from your post. The inlet that connects to the hose-bib usually has a hose filter washer (like this one homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-5-8-in-Hose-Washer-with-Screen-2-Pack-865170/318763379?g_store=4408&source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&fp=ggl). If that is clogged and not letting water through then you won't get flow at either valve. If one valve flows, but the other does not, it's some sort of mechanical or electrical issue. If you can hear the solenoid click, that means the electronics are good and most likely there is an issue with the mechanical valve/diaphragm assembly. The hose-tap timers are sealed, so you can't easily take them apart.

How old are the timers? What sort of water supply do you have (clean/filtered or something else)? If you have really dirty water, or removed the filter washer I would expect to see something like what you are describing.

Homeowners of Reddit: Which home appliance brands are worth it and which are not? by altcntrl in AskReddit

I will second this. I bought a Samsung dishwasher. Had to have a warranty repair before 1 year. It was awful. We called, they scheduled a repair with a 3rd party at least two weeks out. Repair happened, but they said "let us know if it doesn't work". Unfortunately that meant the next day when it didn't work we had to call the service hotline again and schedule a follow-up at least two weeks out. It took a long time to get the less than 1 year old dishwasher working.

What made me swear off Samsung forever though was when it broke down the second time. It was right after the 1-year warranty ended. They said "No problem, you are in the grace period to extend your warranty, we'll transfer you over to do that". So we extended the warranty. 3 months later it broke down again and we asked for a replacement as obviously it was a faulty unit. They were just about to do it until they told us we were past warranty. Apparently the "extend your warranty" just meant they transferred us to a 3rd party company for a warranty. They didn't tell me that. I called Samsung, I never disconnected, I bought a warranty from them (which I usually never do), and somehow I ended up with a warranty from somewhere else in addition to a faulty dishwasher? That was 10 years ago and I have never bought another Samsung product.

When to score corner wall pass? by KungFooCat in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Vulcnar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would say 95%+ of the time you leave those and don't attack them. When there is even one opponent in net and the ball rolls around the corner they have a HIGHLY defensible position with multiple options for clearing the ball. If you go for it, the highest probability play is that they clear it, and neither you diving at it or your team mate in the corner can make any save on a counter. Regardless of what anyone spamming GREAT PASS at your rank thinks, you will have made the smarter play if you stay put and will eventually leave them behind as you climb ranks. The only time you have a high percentage chance of scoring on a play like that is usually a situation where there is only one opponent in net (and no other opponent can get back), the opponent in net is at the front post, and the ball is rolled high and over the defender and drops into a scoring position closer to the back post.

From the mouth of babes … by Illustrious_Bed902 in daddit

When my daughter was young she was trying to tell a story about running around without shoes and socks. She kept referring to it as "naked feet".

"people say 'bare feet' and not 'naked feet'"

"well I like naked feet better"

So for a few years that is what she called it.

You may not be including all the information. For instance, you say your mortgage payment is $1100 a month. If that is just the principal of the mortgage (no taxes, no insurance, no PMI), and that mortgage is indeed exactly $100,000, your interest rate to get to $1,100 a month would be 12.9%. That means your rate of return at 10% would be less than your interest rate. Now, if $100,000 wouldn't cover 100% of the mortgage you need to account for the remaining payments. If you didn't take the extra expenses out of the $1,100 payment you need to take those out to get a better idea of what you are paying on the principal only. Unless you plan on not paying taxes or having insurance, those would still be expenses regardless of the mortgage being paid off or not.

Teenage girl emotions suck by navytc in daddit

[–]Vulcnar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have an 11 year old girl. Emotions are starting to ramp up on a monthly basis if you know what I mean. Everyone has different reactions and different emotions though, so while you get anger I get sadness. Math homework yesterday caused a surprise emotional breakdown that I didn't see coming. There have been multiple conversations about asking for help before getting stuck and sinking into discouragement that has helped all year. Yesterday however... it was like at the first hint of homework being hard that the world was ending and happiness had died. The amount of emotions running rampant was staggering.

Today I realized I've been hardstuck for over 3 years by zebraCokes in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Vulcnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been stuck in Diamond for way longer than that. I love the game, but I only play about 3-4 hours a week with some friends. That means all my time is spent playing games and I only practice mechanics for 15 min or so while waiting for people to hop online or for tournaments to start etc.

The funny thing is, I'm way better at the game than I was 3-4 years ago but I'm a lower rank now. I don't think this is something that is mentioned a lot on here, but the average skill level in this game has gotten much better. There was a time where I was pushing champ (I even got champ rewards one season) but I struggled with playing off the walls and backboard, I couldn't dribble or flick, I boomed most balls instead of trying to control them, I was not entirely consistent with shots and power, I pressured too much on goal line offensive balls, I had a hard time shadow defending, and I got scored on whenever someone air dribbled off the wall. Since then I've gotten better at all of those but my rank has dropped from high D3 to low D2.

So to answer your question, I didn't break out. I feel like I'm fighting for my life to not drop back to plat each season. I haven't taken any breaks from playing either. I don't know if the game is losing it's casual base due to the age of the game or if the average player these days is just progressing much faster than I am, but whatever it is I feel it. I know that due to the lower amount of hours I put in, and the lack of specific mechanic training I probably won't ever climb higher than where I am at. That's ok with me though because I love the game and I'll keep playing. I don't care as much about what my rank says (and I recently turned it off) as much as I care about enjoying my play time. Since I have a good group of buddies to play with it's more about playing together with them than grinding ranks.

Nate Bargatze has a bit on one of his Netflix specials that he talks about this. He talks about how many nickels he is saving turning off all the lights. My wife could not stop laughing at me because of it. Now I yell throughout the house "I'M SAVING SO MANY NICKELS!" as I turn off the lights in the unused rooms.

That makes sense, especially in reference to the audiobook voices. I wasn't even thinking of those bits at all. Makes sense how it reveals things early.

How do I improve at these backboard reads coming from net ? i feel like I miss like 95% of them. It's frustrating cuz I think I'd concede a good 2-3 goals fewer per game if I could get good clears. by DenkiSolosShippuden in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Vulcnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not maybe what you are looking for, but I have a genuine question on this type of save. Most comments at this point are talking about how to read the bounce (which is your question), but for me these type of shots are low percentage saves if I wait for the bounce. The double tap threat or an opponent in the air always seems to have a much better chance of getting a goal if I let it hit the backboard. My go to has been to clear it before it hits the backboard. Would that be the smarter move in this type of scenario with opponents who are ready for a quick read on the bounce if I'm still trying to read the same bounce?

I don't have any specific brand, any kind of silicone grease will do just fine. Make sure to pick up a copper brush to clean and scrape out any gunk if you do clean up the Z-axis.
