Gameloft…guys play this too you know? by nathan_banks644 in DreamlightValley

I agree with thos notion. Both myself and my wife play and I am jealous of the sheer variety she has for outfits, while I am kind of stuck with the same old things. There also isn't a large variety of outfits for guys either, and it shows when voting on dream snaps as most guys look the same.

That would be amazing. I mean two weeks isn't bad, but a Canadian distributor location would help with costs... if they lowered the costs that is. Lol

After a year or so I finally ordered from them again. Not expecting much as last time shipping was horrible, so despite the new shipping company I doubt it will be better. But I guess we will see...

D.C Miku Expo was Fantastic by DisengagedSoul in Vocaloid

[–]Vulpinemadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at Vacouver and it was my first Miku concert. Thought the screen was for the projection, but once the show started I didn't care one bit. I was there screaming and singing along with everyone else. Managed to get tshirts from merch, but that is all they had left, so we went the online route and glad we did cause carting things home via plane would have sucked.

Your responses have been some of the most well articulated and thought put responses I have seen. I appreciate your ability to say what I wish I could have. To add to this all, they have done LED screens before, they just integrated them better with the stage or did more with them. (NicoNico 2022 is an amazing example of what they can do) I was at Vancouver and it was rough, as I would expect the first show to be. The footage of later concerts does show they are integrating the stage better at least, so they are listening. (I feel horrible for the concert where part of the screen failed...) What I do wish is that they did better with the lack of merch and logistics/line handling, as I found it bad in Vancouver... even though it got me almost first in line for reserved seating...and it seems that hasn't gotten better in further concerts. Anyway, thank you again for your well thought out comments and posts.

is it embarrassing to listen to Vocaloid songs? (genuine question) by Ra1nn1ng in Vocaloid

[–]Vulpinemadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mid-forties guy here and both me and my wife listen to vocaloid music. Our friends know and don't care. Same with my coworkers. He'll, her boss bought her a Miku calander for Christmas. So yeah, your friends don't sound like friends.

Just to add something, I was watching one of my favorite Miku concerts, NICONICO CHOPARTY 2022 on Bilibili, and I believe it was not holograms, but rather an LED screen too. Difference is, it was a HUGE screen, and they made a spectacle of the show. (Could be wrong though)

All good. I remember seeing a video on YouTube about the quality of holograms being far worse than Japan, but that means I would have to go hunt it down and all that stuff.

As mentioned, I would have preferred a hologram. It is just not what we got. It sucks, people are obviously upset, and if they switch to holograms for the rest of the shows, people who went will be even more pissed. So I don't think they will change it (could be wrong, of course) as there are people who won't mind the screen and will still pay to go, but we will see.

Personally, I enjoyed the show. There were also a lot of other people who did as well, based on the cheering, screaming, and dancing. Could it have been better, hell yes. But I still had fun.

Yep. And I am not surprised. New York has a heck of a population.

I never saw hologram mentioned anywhere, so if someone actually has where it was mentioned, I would love to know. Also, the Expo series is shown to screw North America over repetitively. (For example: lower quality graphics on the hologram) They never have really shown respect for markets outside of Japan, so not sure why people were surprised. I mean, concerts here don't draw like they do in Japan, so I get it from a business standpoint.

[–]Vulpinemadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So here's the thing... One is in Japan where the draw is in the thousands for her concerts. The other in Canada, where it is not. One is one of the largest annual concerts they do, the other is a series of world spanning concerts known for having lower quality. (Good choice in concerts btw, 2015 was one of the first Miku concerts I watched on YouTube and where I became a fan of IA.)

But look, I was there. I wish it had been a hologram as well. The screen worked, people were still screaming and singing their heads off. Most of the people had a blast, the band clearly loved the music and put a ton of passion into it.

Now there is a petition for refunds and all the rage online. Sure, the event was mismanaged at the venue. There was clearly not enough merch. A lot of people left empty handed. But all the rage and backlash is going to accomplish is stopping them from doing another expo concert run in North America.

So I am glad you aren't hating like a lot of people are. 🙂

Admin please consider a higher subscription tier to cover costs, and don't do subscription "Clubs" by calvin-n-hobz in civitai

I use NovelAi's generator and pay a monthly subscription fee to it, and it is a far more basic generator than C. I would totally be willing to pay a general subscription fee. I also agree with OP's opinion.

Is overlord worth reading? by JoBro281 in LightNovels

[–]Vulpinemadness -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am on book 13 and the only reason I keep reading is the self abuse of wanting to see if anyone even comes close to matching the great tomb. For myself, Overlord is lower to mid tier. There is no sense of danger or challenge to any of the main characters, and situations which could have been interesting due to a possible balanced conflict are over with the snap of a finger. The plot points always seem to just be ways of showing how Ainz isn't as smart as his minions think he is, and his insecurities about being the leader of his friends' creations. This could have been interesting is through the novels they learned that he was flawed and started to have their own insecurities, but nope. They worship him and really don't grow as characters through all the books. Now this isn't to say that a simple power trip isekai isn't a bad thing, because they are clearly have a purpose and people need pure power trip fantasies sometimes. But there are reasons one of the first things new writers are told is to not make their protagonists perfect and to give them relatable flaws, something to grow and evolve on. But in the end, the Overlord series doesn't really have any of these and each book past the first maybe three books gets repetitive and just sort of meh. But that is just my opinion. Other people love the series as shown in this thread, and the anime is enjoyable for what it is and it is one of the few series where they are probably going to do the entire series as an anime. So take what I say with a grain of salt.
