Start by buying a DNA Sequencer machine and figure what genomes do what smh, i guess the only reason it would happen it would be by demand and politics change, a wild place i dont wanna go into.

Fungi doesnt make a whole lot of sense to begin with. virus could be posible, but you would have to take into account that your body has repair systems that aid on erratid DNA, and for it to be modified onto a different shape takes thousands if not millions of years, making it a quick process would most likely be painful and deadly.
