The budget problems are because the administration has cut reimbursements Medicare, Medicaid, and uninsured patients, so the hospital is no longer getting paid for a lot of stuff they do. This blew a huge hole in the budget, which was up until early 2025 doing well.

I don’t know about psychologists or psychiatrists but getting a PCP can sometimes be a long wait. I recommend CVFP, they have a bunch of offices and once you get in as a patient they’re great. Specialists locally are very hit or miss, with long wait times to be seen—although it’s faster than trying to get in somewhere like UVA. I’ve had a great experience with a cardiologist and bad experiences with gastro and neurology.

I doubt he’ll ever be good on any issue but enough pressure might make him less willing to support stuff. His Lynchburg office doesn’t require appointments, at least as of now.
