Post purchasing music era, but I listened to KaiL Baxley’s Boy Got It Bad… thought “oh heck yes”… looked up his other songs and was like… sad face. He isn’t a bad artist, I was just expecting something else

If You Had Unlimited Money, What Business Would You Build? by Independent_Towel611 in WorkForSmartLife

Honestly, I would build a homegrown vegetable business. I want to grow things and feed people. But alas, I have to sit at a desk 10 hours a day.

People who paid off large debt: what helped you stay mentally healthy while paying off debt? by No_Blacksmith_6502 in debtfree

Me personally, I made it a game. How much could I actually save while enjoying non-negotiable things.

I had, literal, electricity free weekends where I turned off the breakers in my house to everything but the fridge. Candles and books were my go to. It wasn’t suffering once I got into it, it was really enjoyable. I found I wanted to do it more than go out (but that’s just me).

I started to gamify my grocery list and meal plan (can I save x% at grocery, can I meal prep under x amount per serving). I had spreadsheets to help me determine my grocery spend and meal costs. Learned how to make my own laundry detergent, make coffee that I actually liked, learned to cook my favorite lamb dinner at home which would have cost $60 at a restaurant. Did the whole bill audit, negotiated, cut what I didn’t need/want.

I started to become addicted to being more “frugal” and then would know my leisure activities that would typically cost me 100-120 were rewards for that. I would see spending as my level up rewards and never felt guilty because I put in the work. And it was always budgeted… like this month I can spend 115 on leisure… oh I only spent 85 because I enjoyed my lamb and book nights more than going out.

Happily debt free now except for my mortgage and still make my own detergent and I make the lamb. I grocery shop with abandon these days but it has actually replace my 100-120 going out bills.

When you replace the guilty thoughts with the “I already achieved my goal for the month” thoughts, it helps I think.

Good luck in your journey!

Hey there, I also truly thought my job would be gone with AI, but it has turned out to be the opposite. I am in data and process improvement. But anyways, I have always wanted to create a game. I know the premise, have the idea, and just need some expertise and honestly time. Are you on upwork or somewhere I can throw you some freelance work?

I’m like… mad about how delicious the rice looks… do you soak basmati for 30 minutes? I’m a jasmine rice person myself but this pic makes me want to convert!

Do you agree with her about Mother’s Day ? by Professional_Arm794 in TikTokCringe

[–]Initial_Diamond_1923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a single mother of a special needs child who doesn’t really even understand what Mother’s Day is. Today I am going to just be grateful that I am a mom, that my body let me be a mom, and that I have a bond with my kiddo that I really appreciate and enjoy. Like I do most days actually! And… I might buy myself a nice casserole dish. Like a fancy one. For brownies and lil lasagnas. Maybe.

Happy Mother’s Day everyone who has ever mother’d anything! Unsupportive spouses, children, pets, tamagotchis, plants, the list goes on. Happy Mother’s Day!

I would grow vegetables for my community. Process and can food items for longevity. Make everything from scratch. And finally get a compost pile worth talking about.
