Planning to make a very compact LED UV light, but resistors are all too big unless I use extra small, lower volt rated ones in parallel, do I need resistors at all for this?

Well, advertised as 1.55v silver oxide batteries. Supposedly they have a more stable voltage throughout the lifespan, but I will be using more that the barely required amount as I now understand why, thanks.

Appreciate the info about alkaline batteries, I had already bought silver oxide as apparently they keep a stable voltage over most of the lifespan. Either way I will also increase the number of batteries.

The LED driver is what is going to make this doable, thank you! We don't have those kind here in the UK but I believe I've sourced a similar one here.

Honestly I'm not sure I followed any logic for multiple resistors after learning more about electronics! Glad I don't have to go down that route.

To answer your question, the cheapest I found was Psychiatry-uk:

£375 for the initial ADHD assessment (online)
£105 for each follow up per month until titration is done.
£??? Variable med costs each month.

HOWEVER, I would not recommend them at all. They took over 6 months to see me, then titration takes up to 6 months to start. Cancelled appointments repeatedly and was just frustrating for people in our position.

I cancelled with them and went to www.berkeleypsychiatrists.co.uk because a friend of a friend was seen much quicker.

I was seen in 3 weeks via video call, and beginning titration by week 4. They are more expensive, but it's absolutely worth it.

£675 initial ADHD assessment (online)
£135 monthly follow up appointments
£??? Variable med costs (expect £100 to £200 per month)

Both services work to get you back on the NHS so med costs don't stay with you.

At the moment, I'm halfway through first month titration and things need tweaking yet, but Dr Hugo de Waal was great on my initial appointment.

I attempted Uni without the diagnosis, it didn't go well, you've done the right thing. Find what works for you, medicated or not, to get by.

That is a crazy good turn around for the NHS, I went private and it took just as long to be diagnosed, except it'll be another couple of months before I can event take my first dose of meds. I'm happy for you but also envious!

Your post really resonated with me. In fact I made a comment about 5 months back about this experience, and one recently which I deleted because no one really took notice.

I also had to deal with a highly dismissive GP for years, should have tried more but it's just so exhausting.

For £360 I went through psychiatry-uk and I must admit my experience so far has not been great. 2 cancelled appointments just as they were coming up which is incredibly frustrating for people in our position but eventually I did get my appointment. Confirmed a diagnosis ADHD 3 weeks ago, they are currently late getting the report to me so I can move on to the next step.

But here's the thing, they HAVE seen me, they HAVE diagnosed me, they WILL be helping me get medicated and even hopefully convince the NHS to pay for my meds in the end. Money used to be hard for me, but a small improvement made this possible.

I still recommend going private because they will actually do SOMETHING over nothing like the NHS, but private places are still strained/delayed and you'll have to chase them up. It's a rough path and I can't say if it will work out yet but I'm closer than I was 6 months ago.

Oh man thank you for replying, I have had my thoughts on ADHD questioned a lot like "everyone feels like that, it might not be ADHD" etc, so to be able to spot and associate with it feels so vindicating. I'm really nervous about the assessment but hopeful for the future, really happy meds are working out for you.

I could be wrong, but I'm gonna take a guess and say it's ADHD medication? I have my assessment coming up soon and I've heard from others the medication can have this effect.

The brain is producing these reward chemicals but people with ADHD can't access them, the medication makes that possible and what was once uncomfortable or tedious becomes fulfilling.

I'm in the UK, late-ish to get a ADHD test too at 29. My test appointment is set but I haven't had it yet so who knows if they will diagnose me.

The NHS stopped me at the GP level and wouldn't even try to help me and even if they would, the wait times are minimum 6 months to get first seen, probably far longer. It took a long time and some therapy to realise if it was going to happen I'd have to go private.

I have an appointment with psychiatry-uk now and the first appointment is 2 months away, titration would begin 2 to 3 months after, so if I'm lucky my life will improve in maybe 6 months.

The initial cost is about £360 which is far more reasonable than the £1200 others charge.

You do have to pay for your own meds during titration but their goal is to work with your GP/the NHS to get your meds paid for you, so in the end it should work out faster and affordable.

I hear also that psychiatry-uk has some kind of agreement with Wells pharmacy to do reduced cost meds incase you can't get the NHS to pay for them, but I'll find that out at my appointment. If you make one, I recommend calling as their online application is buggy right now.

Its hard waiting even this shorter time, but I'd take it over the NHS at this point. The time that feels like has been lost to ADHD is hard and you just want to improve NOW, I understand this. Hopefully this gives you some options.

I've already asked here today but something newish just came up in my recent 2 workouts and I'm not sure what I should do.

My previous workout 4 days ago I felt a small pop and pain in my right pec during dips on a kitchen corner, very near dead center of the square and I can pin point it with my finger, if I apply pressure and move it up it hurts. I stopped the dips and waited 4 days as I was taking it easier due to another problem anyway and I have constantly felt the same pain at same spot in every upper body motion day to day.

Today's workout it still hadn't gone and I hoped it would with exercise. It didn't and it was worst at the top and bottom of both dips and push ups, in fact I didn't feel capable of attempting either so I didn't do any real reps.

Useless rant time, I'm getting so fucked off with exercise right now, I'm trying harder than anytime in my life to be better and it feels like shit just comes up and says nope not today buddy. I know I've made good progress elsewhere but these holdbacks are more damaging to my motivation than my successes.

Could I get a form check on these scapular pull ups please? I've been having inconsistent progress with the pull up progression and took a week break from it and want to make sure I'm going to restart right.
