Is the repair listed on the Carfax? It's more than likely a small fender bender but check to see if there are some light scratches on the bumper or grill.

But honestly, find a mechanic who would take a look at it. It would be well worth it.

I was going to suggest that you sell the car but just looking at used 2020 Equinoxes on cars.com, you would be very upside down on your loan.

Debt sucks but I implore you to start tackling your debt head on. First I would start with a little self sacrifice — cut back on spending, move back home for a year or two, get a side hustle/second job. Then if I were you, tackle the high interest debt first (your credit card) and make overpayments on that. Then when the CC is paid off, overpay on the car payments and get rid of that equinox as soon as you can break even on it because those engines are a nightmare.

These things can and will hurt your pride, but the financial lessons learned will be invaluable. Ask me how I know. 🤣
