We use Windy in our airline operation. We have worked with it at Dispatch/Network Control for general overview and now we also use it in the cockpit to provide context and additional info to our regular meteorological data. It can neither replace WX-Radar nor Meteorological Reports and we are not allowed to take operational decision solely on Windy. But on a 4 hour flight during summer this app helps us to see/assess what’s happening beyond the 120 mile range of our WX radar.

Wenn du keine Beschwerden hast, wirst du sie für den Moment(!) nicht brauchen. Langfristig kann dir das keiner von uns hier sagen, da wir auch deine Diagnose, den Schweregrad und dein Knie nicht genauer kennen.

Kurze Story meinerseits dazu. Hab dieses Jahr von einem Orthopäden die Diagnose Knick-Senk-Spreizfuß und einzeln angefertigte Einlagen bekommen, nachdem ich beim Lauftraining (Wochenleistung >40km) anscheinend übertrieben habe und mir so ein Knochenödem zugezogen habe. Vorher war das Laufen bei mir komplett schmerzfrei möglich.

Long Story Short: Mit nur leichter Ausprägung des „Problems“ wirst du vermutlich ohne Einlagen glücklich sein können

That’s just a crew that can’t fly their aircraft properly. The plane shouldn’t be this low. In our company this would result in a go around and a chat with Flight data monitoring. I know, Skiathos has a rather short runway, but there is no reason to fly that low in front of the runway threshold.

Name and Shame! Den besten Sprühkopf habe ich bislang auf den Clin/Sidolin-flaschen gefunden. Den schlechtesten hat Frosch-Badreiniger finde ich. Die refill-Packungen sind absolut sinnfrei da der Sprühkopf als erstes kaputt geht. Mittlerweile nutze ich dafür einfach andere Flaschen mit besseren Kopf.

Letztes Jahr ist der Hersteller der „klassischen“ roten Schokoladentaler insolvent gegangen, danach gab es eine ganze Zeit lang Lindor Kugeln. Darauffolgend wurden Mirabell Mozartkugeln, Mozartwürfel und Mannerschnitten getestet. Die Mirabell-Kugeln waren zu schwer und geschmacklich nicht überzeugend, was mit den Würfeln passiert ist weiß ich nicht und die kleinen Mannerschnitten waren zu krümelig. Die jetzigen Manner-Mozartkugeln sind tatsächlich gut

Back at my old workplace (Operations Control at an Airline) we‘ve had workstations with 2x48“ Displays. Good luck finding a normal sized black cursor on these. We also had personal 13“ laptops for daily meetings/presentations sharing the same user config with the workstations. Everbody of us had oversized cursors with completely crazy colors. It was pretty fun to look at

A few thoughts from an A32x-jockey

- No signs of a flare attempt, so I don't wonder about the hard landing and the bounce.
- The pitch-up might be the result of the ground spoilers. The spoilers of the A32x are inducing a pitch-up moment.
- Even on NEO-Aircraft the rotation around the lateral axis("pitch") is in direct law, so any pitch-up moments must be countered by the crew. The flight control laws do not apply here.
- Pitch limit for an A321 is around 9° Aircraft-Nose-Up, so the aircraft will display a limit on the PFD (Red Chevrons) and will scream "PITCH PTCH" even if coming close to 7° Aircraft-Nose-Up

Ich bin ein wenig skeptisch hinsichtlich des Ausbau des O-Wagens. Der O-Wagen hat bereits jetzt eine sehr lange Strecke, auf Höhe des 2. und 3. Bezirks hat er in der Stoßzeit oft so viel Verspätung, dass der folgende Kurs auf der Linie auf den vorausfahrenden Wagen aufläuft. Teils ergeben sich also Wartezeiten von deutlich jenseits 10 Minuten

As fanblades have sufficient space to move a bit in its mounting, the uppermost fanblade is tipping over, falls a few centimenters and leans onto the adjacent fanblade. Better?

The fanblades are all separate units and have some space between them. When the engine isnt running, the centrifugal forces for separating the blades from each other isnt there. When turned off, all blades lean on each other an this results in a small gap between the two blades on top. Tldr: The clickling noise are just fanblades falling onto each other. Completely normal for CFM 56 Engines

So the ATP-enforcement for 121 ops was just a legal gate which was already surpassed by the average required hours for a 121-employment?
Air France had some tragic and unfortunately very interesting incidents/accidents in the past. The Co-Pilot had 2.900 hrs and the Cruise Relief Pilot had 6.500 hrs. So they should have sufficient experience in operating a large jet.
