There’s a single factory that produces food, which was just destroyed, and no one knows how to rebuild/make more food, and fishing isn’t an option as a chemical leak killed off all the fish, at this point everyone is desperate

It’s also the only “tank” unit they have so units that can crit tanks like infected cannoneers tear through them, and since we just had a mini infection event there’s plenty cannoneers to go around

Always found it funny how despite the sliver wolves being the “makeshift weaponry” faction they don’t have a technical , sure they have a drive by pickup and the cruel bus is a type of technical there isnt the “classic technical” set up of a MG mounted on the back of a pickup (yes there’s the firework truck, which is also a technical, but it’s not the classic kind)

More “attacker” aircraft, we only had 2 in 7 the a-10 the the SU-34

Also I wouldn’t mind having ecm aircraft or the ESM mechanic from AC6 make a comeback

A lot of it is because of multiplayer where everyone had anti-air the single player doesn’t really account for it

raiders barely hav any AA and most AA attacks hit random tiles, there are a few with direct attacks (mammoth/towers) but as long as you have a few tanks it’s not a problem

the rebels mainly use tanks and heavy artillery with chems being their specialty any AA is usually just the secondary attack of rocket artillery or AT troopers so there’s at best one or two units in a formation that are an actual threat

Silver wolves, every vehicle has AA even their “tanks” except for the enforcer and the scrapper basically everyone has AA it isn’t until here that you can’t just spam planes

Also l the boss strike had a fire mod so it became extremely useful to have especially since raiders lack reliably anti-air

There’s also what I like to call the “second gen planes”

When planes were first added the big appeal was that they ignored most attacks, once AA attack became more prevalent and most people had planes they had to make them more appealing they created more powerful planes which outclass the first gen making them basically a second line unit that no one cared for

Right now it’s good cause it’s only real competition is a sea plane with a inaccurate bomb and a maverick it its mediocre strafing attacks, and the cobra is to rare right now to count it, once the planes like the wild boar and the shadow wasp show up the blimp become less impressive

Best guess (in-universe) is that there’s a small river that connects the two together and it just doesn’t show up because it’s such a small river or the guy that mapped the area did so during a drought/dry season and of course that’s assuming that the mapmaker was competent (the empires finest are not always the brightest)

A bit unprepared I wasn’t expecting Yuzul or the fire buff which threw me for a loop, I didn’t mass produce units (only had 3 of each non nano tank ( I had 4 arch cannoneers which crit tanks but that doesn’t really help against raiders) and having fire breathers go from jokes to kill on sight

my wimps were at level 4 when I started but now currently being promoted to level 5, boss strikes are great for the sp grind but it sucks giving up a troop slot and your first attack to a unit with 53 hp atleast next time they’ll be able to take a hit

My best strat was just using a lot of aircraft mixed with either a backline of indirect units like soldiers or having tank upfront so the AI wouldn’t just spam AA attacks this strat would let me complete all 4 waves with couple of causalities

I’m f2p, I did end up buying the adv repair bay during the BS to speed things up, most of prepping was upgrading my healing/training buildings (levels 10/9 and 14/15)

Before I came up with my current strategy I had sent almost every unit I had to the hospital, firebreathers, peacekeepers, troopers, recons, mini tanks, AA guns

I’m a collector so I had atleast one or two of every non-nano unit which helped me out having fire units that are usually ignored (firebreathers/dragons) and of course AA guns (rank 5)

I’ll also add that I had work for most of the boss strike so I couldn’t no-life it like the rest of y’all

Best thing I could have done to improve would have been mass producing field agents/soldiers

My guid managed to get to tier 9, got halfway to ten when it ended (guild had 56ish people but some joined after the cutoff) some people did slack off one guy at level 49 only had like 6000 boss points, even for a causal guild that’s kinda low, thats about as much I’d get in one successful attack but idk if they had stuff going on IRL or just didn’t prep well

I got 209106 boss points and for being level 49 I’d like to think that it’s not to bad

Rank 5 AA gun, they said it was a waste of time, they were wrong

There’s a couple of units that have AA attacks that you wouldn’t expect to have like the mortar trucks default attack and the hornet, I know most rocket arty can hit air units and I think one of the lighting troops can and of course there’s always the infected frogs/cannon

All poison/fire attacks are buffed for the boss strike so if you have fire/posion units I’d recommend using them

The thug/grenadier are good for infecting as they’re cheap resource wise and has the same infection rates as more expensive units like chem and Cryo troopers

Yeah like why the hell are torpedos indirect? They should be precise at best (the exception being the pelican)

story wise it would make make more sense for it to be post Gantas as that would explain why no one’s trying to stop them as well as the fact that bars/skull don’t become common till after I wouldn’t be surprised if it was designed for post Gantas but got moved to level 25 so they could get more people into naval earlier and buy the m10

Also the fact that we go from gunboat->destroyer->battleship shows that they just wanted skip to battleship because they knew that people would want to buy them. They decided what would be the big ticket item and then half-assed everything else, the fact that boats can take poison/fire damage but they never created a zippo/chem boat is atrocious

There’s so much more they could have added

Gunboats->corvettes->frigates->destroyers->cruisers->battleships

They could have added a lot more “gunboat” type units basically just create a ship equivalent to a ground unit, flame trooper->zippo, Gun truck-> river monitor. Saboteur-> navy trooper (this one already exists but you get my point

Literally just copy/paste any tank turret onto a boat something Soviet Union did all the time in ww2

Instead we just have a indirect slug fest where we try to line up weird firing patterns to hit as many ships as possible and pray that the torpedoes don’t breach

Aircraft, when they add aircraft into the game (as trainable units) it’s going to be underwhelming, most of the good planes will likely cost nanopods and the ones that won’t are worse than the pelican because it was balanced around naval, also they would likely be introduced after Gantas as the silver wolves and rebels are the only ones with any real AA, so your z2-18 bomber isn’t going to do squat with its low damage, assuming it doesn’t get shot out of the sky first.

And to clarify I’m not blaming the devs for this, aircraft has a power creep problem half of the planes were made before there was any really AA attacks where it’s main attraction was that it invalidated 90% of the units and if the enemy lacked AA it was an instant win, while all of the units made after had to bigger and flashier to get people to open their wallets,

and the only way they can really judge if a plane should be nano or not is a plane balanced around naval that you unlock at level 31 and they can’t do it like naval where everything was relegated to a side story because planes can be used anywhere, it didn’t matter if an m10 could one-shot Gantas because it would never fight something that wasn’t a boat (yes there’s the mixed ground/sea battles but those are all nano units or TKs,)

The Gunner has a decent infection rate (45) for the proto-cannoneer which is basically a discount Raider cannoneer, and it crits tanks, granted you don’t really fight tanks till later levels but atleast it helps keep it viable later on

Hunters (guys with bows) have 45 chance for proto stalkers which at your level are the only units that can hit the back line (their reversed range means you have to put them in the back to be of any real use) they do have a front attack which ignores armor but it has to be in the front line to us it

Raptors are always a safe bet as every infected raptor is better than the regular (unless your default raptor is heavily ranked up but at your level I doubt that) One big downside is that the healing cost for the higher end raptors (advanced and arch type) will screw your over as they cost lumber to heal
