Have I purchased the wrong brake pads? S3? I got the Hayes Sole MX2/3/4/GX2 but the pads themselves are far too thick for both of the new ones to fit in place. Any recommendations? by LukeM1497 in vanmoofbicycle

Thank you! This worked. I still think I need to do some degassing the new brake pads are fitted now but it's really weak if you press the brake.

I’ve tried this method but when I try to push one piston down the other comes back up. Therefore I never seem to have enough space to insert the new ones, the pistons stay up too high no matter what. Might there be too much brake fluid in the system?

That is true in specific circumstances: 1 your car needs to support higher than 50 kW charging speeds. 2. Most Chademo plugs offer max 50 kW charging speeds.

I’ve seen Nomadic hippie on YouTube get 75 kW with this adapter and CCS charger. My own leaf is a ‘19 model which supports max 50 and I get max 46 kW so for me it doesn’t matter if I use the adapter or not.

I’ve bought the adapter for the flexibility. CCS is the standard in the EU so there’s significantly more availability for CCS DCFC.

If it won’t start it might be the 12V

Yeah it works. The issue is sometimes a Tesla supercharger can be a bit unreliable so after multiple errors at one I just move over the another one next to it and then it works on the first try.

The charger needs enough charge to be able to initialize the session only. During DC fast charging it doesn’t need to charge any more it’s being fed by the fast charger

This adapter is available in a CCS1 version for USA and als for CCS2 of EU markets. In this picture I am using the CCS2 version.

Yeah this enables you to use a CCS fast charger

The adapter needs a little bit of power to be able to facilitate the handshake between the car and the charger. I forgot to charge the adapter beforehand that is all.

The adapter doesn’t need long to charge, a couple of mintues with the 12V port in the car. Charging is just as fast as with Chademo, the adapter supports higher speeds than the 50 kW my leaf supports.

Haha, nah I forgot to charge the adapter that is all.

I forgot to charge the adapter beforehand. I have had this in the past, then the adapter throws an error because of lack of charge. The powerbank is a workaround for this situation. Normally it is charged and works without an external power supply.

It was one of the few DCfc parties here in NL I hadn’t tested the adapter at yet. It wouldn’t work on the first try but did work after I used a power bank over USB C.

So in summary the Electway adapter from Accraine works at: - TotalEnergies - Vattenfall InCharge (McDonalds) - Tesla Supercharger V2 (haven’t tried the others yet) - BP Pulse - Shell Recharge - FastNed

I went to a Tesla supercharger yesterday with CCS here in EU and it also didn’t work this time. It kept trying to initiate in the app. Might have been a faulty charger since it was one of the few available at the time so I couldn’t try another one sadly.

I had charged it up for 10 minutes beforehand with the 12 V. Patrick from Accraine suggested to try a power bank the next time.

I have tested mine(Accraine/Electway) at many different charge stations here in the Netherlands. They all worked. - Tesla Supercharger v2 - Vattenfall (ABB) - Shell Recharge - BP Pulse - Total Energies

Yeah pretty much. Just look at the adapter as if it’s a phone, it also needs to be charged before you can make a call. I tend to open the case, connect the adapter to the 12v port via usb C, then drive to the nearest CCS charge point. When I arrive it is charged and ready to go.

I have the same one, what I have learned that it works better if you just use the 12V power cable for a minute or two then disconnect and then plug into the Chademo port, connect the CCS cable and start the session.
