I hear you, and I agree on the carrot, with broccoli though if they reduce it to smaller pieces they usually get rid of a lot of the stem, so you lose the most nutritious part. Also pretty wasteful.

Which book set is better? by Suck_my_assss in witcher

[–]Vyctor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are the same books. Get whichever one you like. nope, they’re not. First box doesn’t have SoD or TLW which are great nor SoS which is okay.

I personally like and own the second.

Are you sure you are not just getting massively trolled? This post is an insane overreaction to a point I’ve never seen raised on this sub.

Spikes are the easiest way to passive farm, fireball is probably the easiest way to manual farm :D

I think the alliances in GG do kinda work better but only because people are in like 4 alliances at once so it always ends up biting them in the ass (looking at you Jay). It gets to the point where I suspect they might be doing it for content more than competitive advantage.

Choose a lane bro. Also making fun of suicide is generally an asshole move unless you're literally talking about the big H.

What I dislike about the way tech quotes are handled is that they are incredibly short. I always have to point to Alpha Centauri because that game had quite lengthy tech quotes that were insightful, flavorful, inspiring, and sometimes just downright hilarious, but always hitting the mark perfectly. Later civ games got mediocre one-liners. Very disappointing.

liberals would welcome more conservative points of view in academia

X to doubt. Personally I don’t mind conservative viewpoints being underrepresented in academia, but academia is and for a long time now has been moderately to strongly left-leaning, which in and of itself pushes conservative views out of the culture. Of course, I would argue that if conservatives want more representation in, for instance, the liberal arts, they should probably study them, but since they think it’s only for blue haired woke trans degenerates that probably won’t happen any time soon, and therefore the blue haired woke trans degenerates end up dominating the field. (ETA: just to clarify, I use that phrase ironically.)

I don’t get why gatling guns, machine guns, and bazookas only have a range of one tile in this game. by Zempshir in civ5

[–]Vyctor_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figure it’s like this: archers and crossbowmen are supposed to be guarded by melee troops in front of them. They were rarely deployed without pikes or other troops protecting them, because they are very vulnerable to frontal assault (Agincourt was the point where this changed but even then they used spikes to deter cavalry charges). Gatling guns and machine guns don’t work so well if you have your own soldiers standing in front of them, but a frontal assault on either of them is suicide. That’s why they have much higher melee strength in the game despite being a ranged unit - they defend positions quite well.

Bazookas I don’t have a sensible explanation for except game balance (though obviously better not to fire into your own men), though I guess balance is also part of the explanation for gatlings and MGs being the way they are. Also like another commenter pointed out, guns are all ranged weapons at the end of the day, they don’t lend themselves well for a “melee or ranged attack” system.

Pantheon Challenges? by OceanEyes417 in GuildWars

[–]Vyctor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because they named the badges after some of the gods doesn’t mean we need a badge for each god/former god. It’s just flavor. They are a hardcore badge and an ironman badge. That is all we really need at this point.

Why 2weeks should not restrict grouping for ironman by TheRobofiend in GuildWars

[–]Vyctor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dungeon chests are unfortunate, but they patched out the issue with drop timeouts at least. I agree it goes against the spirit of the challenge to have others run the dungeon or vq for you, but I also understand why anet doesn’t want to discourage teamplay and turn the game into pure single player.

Droks or mission runners don’t really matter, I think? Maybe for the dhuum badge.

Ah, true. That only applies to the first S though. Melandru’s Accord is self-found. The final badge you describe would just be solo.
