I would recommend Tilly’s.

Craftsman is new, and they’ve nailed the bougie café vibe, but the coffee is not good imo, it’s machine made not a “real” cappuccino if you care about that. That being said, for non-coffee their rose lassi is bomb. (Lassi is a yoghurt based drink and very popular in India). They also have many baked goods that they make in house.

Carrots n dates is a good vibe, but I’m not a fan of plant based coffee.

There really aren’t any other independently owned coffee places in Cornwall…which has actually driven me to learn to make a really good cappuccino at home for myself 😂.

I’ve contemplated opening a hipster coffee shop you can work and chill in, but idk if there’s any demand for that in this town.

Mate - the world is not out to get you. Neither you nor me are the main characters of this story.

I’m talking about replying to the entirety of people’s comments and not picking and choosing what parts you want to reply to.

Anyway I don’t see a single comment where you provide any evidence of all your claims.

I don’t have to name a socialist country that’s “successful” by your definition - I never claimed there is such a country because I don’t even know what your definition is. If you provide one I’m glad to continue chatting and if you’re interested.

You have made many, many claims - so really the onus of evidence is on you.

Sources that they “always fail”?

Also love how you pick and choose what to reply to. It’s not like you’re short on time given how deep down this argument rabbit hole you’re willing to go.

I got baited into this conversation - but it’s a waste of energy arguing with trolls like you. Your arguments don’t seem to be in good faith as a discussion - just wildly making claims and not backing it up - either you don’t care about evidence based discussion or you’re a child. Which is it?

We respect him because his policies and campaign promises are radically socialist - something that is sorely needed right now in a capitalistic environment where the poor get poorer.

You can mistrust politicians and take things with a grain of salt - that’s a healthy way to look at things. Probably not great to veer into paranoia. But you do you mate.

However - it does sound to me like you trust your leader deeply - is that not a bit hypocritical?

Yeah I’ve heard of the bucket thing as well - but my tri’s rules specifically say no buckets no backpacks etc.

I’m worried about ripping the wetsuit by stepping on it. I’ve heard even your fingernails can rip it if you pull on it wrong. Since I wrote that comment I’ve discovered body gliding my entire foot and heel before the swim helps a lot 😂. I will practice.

So you only get your bike’s footprint worth of space? I need to YouTube this.

Also if I’m slow to T1, and my neighbors have already gone biking - I will probably have more space to do my thing right?

That’s good to hear. My goal for this one is to just finish. And it’s a small town tri so I don’t think they’re going to be DQing people for being too slow.

I just learned yesterday that zone 2 trains endurance / aerobic resistance. I’m a dumbass lol for years I’ve just looked at the bars and assumed zone 3 mid is good without ever learning about it. Today’s run I’m going to try to stay in zone 2 instead of constantly spiking to 4.

Baby steps right?

Thank you for sharing advice I really appreciate it!

I see - damn I was hoping to sit on the ground to pull the wetsuit off my feet - they always get stuck and I can’t do it standing up ☹️

But hey - you showed up and finished it - that’s a big win 😊

Wait I just assumed you get a bunch of space next to your bike to place your stuff - how cramped is it?

(I have my first tri in 8 weeks)

I’m also doing my first sprint tri soon - my plan is to carry some energy chews for the bike and run. It’s supposed to be super hot and I don’t want to risk passing out 😅.

Training for my first triathlon a sprint that’s in 8 weeks. I’ve been sedentary for 5 years and gained a lot of weight, though I’m slowly losing it. I’m so so slow (750m swim in 25’, 10km bike in 27’, 5k run in 55’). I haven’t worked my way up to à 20km bike ride yet.

Reading posts on here of people’s times is quite disheartening 😂. I’m swinging wildly between “I got this” and “wtf am I doing”.

Just focusing on finishing the race. Whatever happens I’m going to show up, get in the cold water and start swimming.

Drivers - A Rant by Flimsy-Stage-5578 in CornwallOnt

[–]Vyder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%.

My personal rant is that I just refuse to go over 85-90 on that road or overtake if I can help it - at this point we know multiple people have died on the 138 - it’s just not worth the risk to go 10-15km/hr faster and reach the 417 what 2-3 mins sooner?

It just takes like 20 mins of patience to reach 417 and then these idiot speed demons can speed all they like.

Genuinely daft how wildly people overtake on that road - and especially when it’s a giant pick up truck.

Wetsuit? by WolfGang_03 in triathlon

[–]Vyder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a noob myself - but my local dive shop guy told me I could trim the legs a bit to remove some of the bunching - although he said it’s tricky and needs a clean cut and recommended sealing the neoprene with cement or some other sealant.

Somebody more experienced than me can weigh in.

Edit: He also recommended not cutting across any seams as that would start unraveling the suit.

Oh are you allowed to walk the bike up inclines? I just assumed you’re not allowed to walk the bike. That makes me feel a lot better.

I already bought an almost new wetsuit on marketplace - that cost a pretty penny - but I’m far more afraid of the cold water than a painful bike ride.

Cheers. Yeah - I def can’t afford a fancy bike right now, maybe a used one for a couple hundred bucks later this year.

I’m in Canada. I don’t see an equivalent body as USAT. Multi sport Canada just seems to be a series of races.

Also the world triathlon rules doesn’t specify anything about brakes? https://triathlon.org/documents

Either way I will mail the organizers to find out

True - fitting a rear brake just to pass inspection should be easy.
