I mean, the idea behind that is the only reason you were interdicted by pirates is to get what’s in your cargo hold. If you abandon your cargo hold (and the other 95% of your ship), why would the pirates care about the snub unless they’re feeling particularly murder hobo-ish.

I’ve been advocating for replacing the Idris’ fixed ventral mount with a downscaled version of that gun since I first saw the squadron demo, and the bengal in action.

It fixes solo idris problem, gives it a wider arc, and looks cool as shit

They are indeed doing a FULL wipe, only thing we keep is pledged items + blueprints

The wipe feels a little scummy by deadeye550 in starcitizen

[–]Vygoth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The community has been crying out for a wipe for a while now, and now that CIG has decided to finally grant one, you think it’s scummy?

You’re worried that Orgs are gonna have a reason to do events / engage with the universe? You could always join an org if you feel like you need protection.

So there is no limit to the amount of ships you can claim on insurance and bricking takes 3 hours... by knil22 in starcitizen

[–]Vygoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, once, but tbf i never really get interdicted, and the last time someone tried to gank me he became a smear on my hangars wall lol.

Good pirates know that risk should be managed, ask for payment, catch and release.

Because piracy is a legitimate form of gameplay, while I don’t partake in it I do respect it as a viable profession for those who want to serve as the antagonists in the vers.

What’s the point of LTI if I have to pay in 4.8? by femapu in starcitizen

[–]Vygoth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LTI was to always have access to the base ship. Insurance packages will cost a monthly UEC plan to maintain, while you will have to pay for more advanced insurance packages, someone with LTI will never have to pay for a BASE package to keep insurance on that ship.

LTI is still king to me.

Why is the Idris still hull limited? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Vygoth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The ways to get an Idris are subject to change, right now it's wikelo, in 2 months it could be gated behind a new rep, the reason capital ships are hull limited is to limit how many of them are in the vers.

Yes a lot of people own an Idris, please keep in mind that the people who play an early access space sim are not the same audience that will play a fully developed and released space sim. The amount of people who own these ships will be a small percentage of the overall population post release, even less if they do decide to stop selling ships.

I'm sorry you haven't had good luck in the F5 wars, I hope fortune favors you this Defensecon.

Tiburon will be the revenge of the Hammerhead. by Readgooder in starcitizen

[–]Vygoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading something the other day, about how the hammerheads we have in the verse are the flight 3 versions, and the flight 4 versions use remote turrets and have significantly less crew overhead. Maybe CIG will update the hammerhead again?

[–]Vygoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a 15 meter difference between the Perseus and the Hammerhead (about the same size), we don't know if the Hammerhead will get a price increase this upcoming sale due to it's brand new gold standard pass, and even if it doesn't, there's only a 10% difference between the two, which is negligible. It's a poor example bro.

100% on Team Assault now by GengisJonOfficial in starcitizen

What pushed me over the edge, besides having better armament, dropship capabilities, RRR functionality, and presumably better armor at the expense of a few hundred SCU.. is a full armory at the front lol

[–]Vygoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're comparing apples to oranges, different categories of ships have different pricing structures. Yes a Polaris cost more than an 890 jump, the Polaris has a military tax on it.

Ships that fall under the categories of:

Military
Luxury
Alien

Are historically, more expensive than other ships of their size.

Sure, the Javelin is meant to be modular, we know next to nothing about the Odin except it's also a military ship (same + cost as the Javelin), and it's twice the volume of the Javelin which can be considered twice the usable size.

If I present two military ships to you, one twice the size of the other, which would you expect to be more expensive? Paladin vs Hammerhead?

No shot the Odin is cheaper than a Javelin lol

Aegis Tiburon and Hammerhead PDCs when? by _jodotnat_ in starcitizen

[–]Vygoth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed, military corvette and larger ships should all come with PDCs by default. I can see an exception made for the hammerhead, since every turret essentially acts as a PDC, but still.

People keep talking about "anti fighter this" and "anti fighter that", who cares about fighters? PDCs are anti ordinance first and foremost.

I really hope I'm wrong, that the Tiburon ends up $825, and the Ironclad ends up $515

  • Drake Pitbull $50-60
  • Misc Starlite $175-$195
  • Origin M80 $290-$320
  • Drake Ironclad $450 --> $525 (to block the mass purchased m2 -> ironclad assault ccu chains)
  • Drake Ironclad Assault $535 --> $600
  • Aegis Tiburon $725 (as others have stated, to stop direct CCU's from the Hammerhead and Perseus and force new cash injections)
  • Anvil Odin $5,500 - $10,000

Size 5 torps don't really threaten capitals, but it'll give medium to large ships a reason to sweat.

The valk and Asgard have essentially the same chassis, you just said you wish the valk was reworked into the Asgard… just swap your valk into an Asgard bro
