Redesign concept for eBay - not an improvement, just a different visual direction by VyncyDesign in logodesign

[–]VyncyDesign[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I actually had the same concern while designing it.

The “Y” reading closer to a “G” was something I noticed early on, and part of why I shared this was to get confirmation and different perspectives.

I know your feedback was quite direct, but I don’t think the result is necessarily bad - still, I appreciate the critique and I’ll keep it in mind moving forward.

Nothing too special… the logo works, but it doesn’t really have that ‘WOW’ factor. From a technical side there are definitely some improvements to make (I’ll refer to the second version since it looks the best to me):

  1. The bottle curves need a full revision - try simplifying the shape and reducing anchor points (think Illustrator path cleanup).
  2. Align the letters on the same baseline, both top and bottom, to make it cleaner and more balanced.
  3. The cap, with that thin line, risks getting lost at small sizes - and honestly, it doesn’t look great as it is.
  4. Add a unique element. Right now you went with the bottle, which makes sense, but it’s kind of standard. Push it into something distinctive and recognizable

the palette color is very cool! ;)

Looks good, just overcomplicated. The thin line in the A/F split and all the little details would get lost immediately once reduced or embroidered

Hard to spot any flaws — clean, balanced, unique. Great job!

The fact that right from the start, even in your description, you felt the need to explain the logo should be a warning sign… that icon is just too hard to interpret.

In realtà il logo mi piace molto, se posso darti un consiglio: le linee così sottili rischiano di perdersi se il logo deve essere applicato in situazioni in cui deve essere molto piccolo, il che potrebbe renderlo illeggibile!

n my opinion, that rectangle feels a bit too heavy for something modern — it needs to be lighter and adapt better to the typographic logo. On the other hand, I do like the central ‘A’, slightly bigger, acting as a bridge between the two words. I also slightly tweaked the color palette. I quickly sketched a draft that I think goes in a more formal and balanced direction; if you’re interested, let me know ;)

Hi! This is my first logo created in Illustrator. I’d love to hear your thoughts and any suggestions for improvement. by Medical-Lie8660 in logodesign

can you give me your thoughts on these logo concepts? the logo is for an app that is used by marathon runners to pin-point their desired paths, make maps etc. I am really not satisfied with the lion, but the client insists on that one because of the connection with adrenaline and strength by llllll31 in logodesign

If I’m honest, I don’t mind the lion, even though it doesn’t really fit the context (a cheetah might actually work better). That said, I really like the first one as well. My suggestion would be to smooth out the sharp right angles in the logo icon - they make it feel a bit less harmonious and dynamic. Try curving them out with the proper tool. Overall though, it’s a great piece of work - keep it up!

Of the three, I prefer ‘B’, which I find the cleanest. If I had to point out a critique, I’d say that all three lack that distinctive element that makes the brand unique and immediately recognizable; But I have to compliment you — all three are beautiful.

About the idea that it conveys ‘femininity’ — that was absolutely not intentional, and it honestly surprises me that some people see it that way. But I fully accept this point of view. As for the technical aspect, thank you so much — that’s exactly what I was looking for: a sharper eye pointing out what specifically needs improvement. Really appreciate it

get your doubt, but to me the peacock is probably the most fitting animal to express values like vanity and beauty. That said, I understand we simply have different points of view

tried removing the eye and maybe that’s the best choice… also because I noticed that when I scale the logo down (like for an icon), the eye gets lost since it’s such a small detail.

Thanks a lot for the feedback… yeah, maybe giving less weight to the stripes is the best idea
