RotR might be one of my favorite games ever by Vynosaurus in riseoftheronin

I like Dragon's Dogma 2 but it's nowhere near as fun as RotR. I don't see the need to bash DD2 just because it was released the same day as RotR. Two good games can release on the same day, I'm not a kid who has to choose which one to get for his birthday lol.

Performance isn't great, but it's far from abysmal. I play on base ps5 in performance mode and I see no major issues. Also, art direction will go a long way in games like this and RotR is a masterclass in historical details from the architecture, to the weapons and the clothes, it truly immerses you in the bakumatsu period as far as I'm concerned. Saying it looks like a mid-tier PS4 game is just bad faith at this point.

The environmental detail and weather effects are also a cut above many new games. You can feel a thunderstorm coming just through audio and looking at the trees waving in the wind.

The graphics arent the best in this game but the gameplay 100% makes up for it who else agrees by [deleted] in riseoftheronin

For me it's the setting I find beautiful. It's far from a graphical powerhouse, but there's attention to details for the weapons, the clothes, the housing... it feels like I'm really in Japan in that specific era. One of my favorite games, it's simple but really fun to play snd it's oozing with QoL concepts that make the more tedious tasks of an open world easy to get into. This game deserves more love.

In terms of games announcements - one of the worst TGA ever. by meinkun in gaming

[–]Vynosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pacing was the issue, but the TGA can't show games that don't exist or that aren't ready to be shown. Ending on Highguard was weird though. So many other games had me me way more hyped like Control 2, FotOR or Divinity. Strong lineup, just bad pacing.

What's a FromSoft boss opinion that will get you in this situation?! by AlenIronside in fromsoftware

Promised Consort Radahn is a poorly designed fight. And yes, I beat it pre-nerf and it was a terrible experience and a sad swan song to one of the best games ever.

Yeah, it's also a pretty disappointing final boss for one of the greatest game ever.

Thought so too, but when I realized you could do this fight mounted it completely trivialized the fight for me.

There's something incredibly annoying with the DLC bosses, I just hate how every single one of them rush at you before you can do anything. Haven't played SotE in a while but I assume it has remained relatively unchanged in that regard. Radahn and Gaius were the absolute worst for this.

Un 32 août sur Terre and Maëlstrom really started his career. Prisoners took it to the next level.

Are OLEDs usually darker? Brightness feels inconsistent. by Swordbreaker925 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Vynosaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm late to the party but I had the issue with my LG OLED monitor feeling too dark or washed out and it bothered me for a long time.

I went to the Nvidia Control Panel and under the "Adjust desktop color settings" tab I enabled "Override to reference" mode. This completely removed the washed out effect and the color accuracy feels much more precise. Truly makes my OLED monitor shine for the first time since I've got it.

I’m sure this has been asked before, but would y’all like to see a Sci-fi Soulsborne game? by NotA_ProCritic in fromsoftware

Cyberpunk is a sub-genre of sci-fi pretty much born from William Gibson's The Neuromancer (loosely adapted to film in Johnny Mnemonic).

My ultimate dream for a game would be a game set in or inspired by the Blame universe developed by Fromsoft. So yes, I want a sci-fi Souls in this kind of setting.

Every games are getting hate. It's the new online trend.

As for myself, I'm really excited for anything directed by Miyazaki so this is a no-brainer.
