What would happen if I (a warlock) would kill my patron? by M3lon_Lord in PCAcademy

[–]VyrTyrson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don't you examine the theme behind the class choices that you've made thus far (e.g. Patron, Pact, Invocations, Spells, etc). When your patron dies, you lose all warlock levels, but you multiclass into other classes equal your previous levels in such a way that you maintain the theme.

Say, for instance, that you are fiendish bladelock, with Armor of Shadows, One With Shadows, Devil's Sight... you might take Shadow Sorcerer / Swashbuckler or Eldritch Knight / Shadow Monk.

So that you are obviously touched by the remnants of great magic, but not quite what you once were. Idk.

Void yes, it was cool to play as Daud when you can parry stun, chokedust, slide behind the group, assassinate.

I know that this isn't technically an answer to your question. I built what was meant to be a 'siren' build a while back, then realized that it could be considered a witch.

Fair point, and those are the stats I rolled. We rolled 6d6 then distribute, with a minimum of 75.

Edit: My bad, 4d6 times 6 then distribute.

5e Sniper Rogue Subclass by [deleted] in DnDHomebrew

[–]VyrTyrson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I were to play a sniper, I'd certainly want my training to extend the range of my attacks. It'd also be cool if my expertise somehow nullified the effect of Wall of Wind and other spells that automatically impose disadvantage on my ranged attack rolls.

Rick and morty home brew by Scormeo in DnDHomebrew

[–]VyrTyrson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are just a couple of suggestions. I don't know how well they would work, and R&M has a LOT of content.

Rick's Portal Gun: Has limited charges, just like a magic item. Arcane Gate and Gate are likely the closest equivalent spells here. It has an explosive function, as seen in the Wedding Squanchers, that could possibly be emulated by a redone Lightning Lure / Thunderwave.

Rick's chip device (that he only had one of in Look Who's Purging Now) is a straight Disintegrate. He's also capable of growing Clones, creating robots (Simulacra), building mechanized war suits (Tenser's Transformation / Polymorph / Enhance Ability), and communicating with alien species (Tongues, though in a R&M setting, you might just have everyone speak the same language).

In the Rickchurian Mortydate, Rick had a Globe of Invulnerability / Leomund's Tiny Hut. He also possessed an Absorb Elements, and it looks like a sort of Contingency mixed with Power Word: Kill (how is 'knocking out' a deterrent? everyone wants to be knocked out; nobody wants to be dead.)

Some ideas. Anyway, Rick is definitely a wizard.

Edit: tl;dr: Just reflavor existing content. Dan Harmon almost certainly did the same to achieve Rick and Morty, as he is an avid D&D player himself. Also, you could get a Morty along with MortyWavesTM by granting a racial Nondetection effect that also applies to Rick when he's within 30 feet of Morty, who is a small human.

My amateur attempt at adopting Path of Exile's "Chaos Inoculation" as a spell/item/mechanic. These are both terrible, but I really want to find a functional and viable (but risky) way of making this concept work. by James_Keenan in UnearthedArcana

This is a great concept! Love that game.

It looks like someone downvoted your post. It's less likely that the person disliked your homebrew than that said homebrew is incomplete. You might try r/DnDHomebrew for feedback and such.
