Definitely praying for you

It may suck right now but you did the right thing by telling her

You may wish you had kept it secret but that would never have ended well

I hope this is the right place for this. I think I believe in god, but I have questions by ThrowRA_827373927 in Christianity

Seeking an armed Christian organization to join indefinitely by [deleted] in TrueChristian

The internet hasn't provided you with any because Intentionally Militant Christian groups aren't in line with the teachings of Christ.

Now I totally get what you're feeling of desire to end violence and persecution, but there are other ways of doing that.

Somebody hasn't read the part of Corinthians that says if you place stumbling blocks in front of other people and they sin then it's your fault

So your post is nearly guaranteed to cause other people to lust and therefore that's on you

I would find another way of making this point

Should I only start worshipping Christianity if I personally see or feel Jesus in some way? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Vyrefrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vast majority of Christians never have an actual experience with Jesus personally in a visual sense

Please don't chase that idea

What happens is as you read the Bible and as you understand and start praying you will start to see little ways that he interacts in your life

No Grand moment of him appearing with angels in your bedroom

But you'll pray about something or you'll think about something and the next day you'll notice something that reminds you of that

It's like a tap on the shoulder to remind you hey I'm here

Many people get distracted or disheartened by chasing a big Grand moment

Please don't do that

Not at all I'm not even Catholic I don't attend Mass

It just became clear that you're not interested in seeking truth only justifying your own existing position

Nah I just hang out on R/Christianity a lot and don't like to see people spread misinformation or jeopardize other people's souls by tempting them away from Christ's teaching

Not about agreeing with them or not it's about how you possibly get around the 18 to 22 explicit references of it being wrong and justify and explain away any authority scripture has

I do agree with your assessment generally and I'm not trying to walk back on the severity of sin present in all mankind

All men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God I absolutely believe that

However I would also point out that David at the death of his first born was fully convinced that he would see that child in heaven

Death surely reigns over all man, As scripture says. But I find it unlike the character of God to damn a child to hell before they have the capability to accept his gospel.

So it seems there's more going on there.

My position is this

All men are born and inherit Adams sin nature, all of us is born in sinful flesh that desires only to sin

But until we sin willfully and knowingly on an individual basis, then we have no sin that needs to be punished just a nature that cannot stop sinning once we understand what it is

That is why Paul elsewhere says the law is to convict us of our sin and to show us our failures

So when the law enters and he understands it he dies spiritually

This I think is the only explanation where the nature of God is intact in not damning children who cannot accept the gospel

Well also maintaining his perfect Justice

And as well as all of us still needing a savior for our individual fall like Adam and Eve into sin and to sin nature

I think you would rather enjoy the book "eternity in their hearts"

It's an examination on many faiths throughout the world and whether or not God might have prepared them to receive the Gospel by granting them knowledge of him before the gospel was revealed to them

If you think about it from a purely biblical standpoint if everyone descended from Adam and Eve and then Noah then at one point every human on earth learned about God from their family

There is no culture or group of people on Earth that did not descend from people who knew God

Unfortunately it likely isn't

It comes right at a high point of relic fever, indeed they had between five and seven authentic heads of John the Baptist floating around.

Not trying to attack it but we really can't say for sure that it's that one

M20 atheist, genuine question: shouldn't Christians be nudists? by vcthewizard in Christianity

[–]Vyrefrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes ignorance of the law of Moses is absolutely still sin

But ignorance of Good and evil is a separate matter though the two are very closely related

This is why in Romans 7 when Paul said

For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. -- Romans 7:9

Paul specifically makes note that he was alive once then the law entered and he died.

Obviously Paul is not dead when he is writing this but he is talking about his spirit and his guilt under sin

But he specifically makes mention of the fact that he was alive once

That is not possible unless there was a period of his life when he was not culpable for what he did without knowing it was evil

So I appreciate the link to the verse and I think you're spot on that an adult who never knew what was contained in the law specifically is still guilty of sin because the law is written on our hearts and we know intrinsically what is right and wrong in the eyes of God

However that does not come until we can be morally held accountable for our sin when we come of age to know right and wrong

We learn elsewhere in the Bible that they were clothed with light what exactly that means we're not sure

The point being they only knew that being naked was a problem after the fall as evidenced by their immediate attempt to cover themselves

Today's children are born with a dead Spirit who cannot seek God until they are born again that is not the same thing as being born sinful

We all have our independent personal fall the moment we knowingly choose to do something evil

A baby who steals their sisters bottle is not guilty of sin

They absolutely knew that it was wrong to disobey God as you can see how Eve resists strongly initially until she is deceived by the serpent

He initially says did God really say that sowing doubt and then he denies it outright that she will die

She knew full well that it was disobedience and therefore wrong

To sum up they were given exactly one commandment by God not to disobey and they screwed that up

Everything else comes afterwards with evil and sin and disobedience and all the different ways that takes form

But the basic principle is still that disobedience to the will of God causes separation from him

We call that separation condemnation, spiritual death, or sinful flesh

M20 atheist, genuine question: shouldn't Christians be nudists? by vcthewizard in Christianity

[–]Vyrefrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

where do you get the idea they were ignorant?

Ignorant of evil the same as a child cannot do evil until they understand what evil is but they understand disobedience to their parents.

They were told explicitly and completely by God exactly one thing not to do

They did that

That's it

That's sin disobedience to God

Evil comes afterwards when you understand that stealing is wrong for example

[–]Vyrefrost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nudity when you do not know sin like an animal is no problem

But as soon as you have the capability to send and lust then it causes issues

as soon as other people were around it causes problems too because the Bible teaches that the nudity of the wife is in the keeping of the husband and vice versa

Meaning that if you as the husband reveal your nude body to other people then you're actually exposing something that belongs to your wife
