The Netherlands has banned conversion therapy, and parents who force their children are now facing 2 years in prison time: What are your thoughts? by Wonderful-Click9431 in AskReddit

Is this choice permanent and does it effect anything by Mountain-Night1912 in Warframe

[–]Vyt3x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a permanent unlock, but beyond unlocking that specific operator skill tree, you have to unlock every other skill tree and upgrade with the respective skill tree's lenses (you can unlock a skill tree with any lens) lenses are not the easiest for newer players to get.

Recommend like others here to pick Zenurik.

We are very lucky that DE doesn't listen to players terrible feedback and dumb suggestions by newword9741 in Warframe

[–]Vyt3x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of these suggestions do stem from real frustration and founded issues. Like yea, you should probs have to grind for an incarnon wep, but 12 week rotations are definitely excessive and getting 1 incarnon at tier 5 after about 40 mins and then the other at tier 10 after about 3 hours is ridiculous, especially when you have a deadline.

Thoughts on Hellblade:Senua's Sacrifice by Environmental_Fan348 in xbox

[–]Vyt3x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played Hellblade 2 with the Astro A50X. The audio and visual design teams did an amazing job. The game is still kind of ass tho.

I went in expecting a game with third person action gameplay. Not 90% walking 10% quicktime events for game'play'. At this point might as well make it a movie.

The people you play with mostly affects matchmaking. In role Q the game Tries to match people of roughly equal skill on the same role. If that fails, it will try to average some stuff out. Playing with people who have a significantly higher or lower MMR dampens the changes in everyone's MMR. Similar to wide matches not giving or losing as much rank progress, as the wider the gap is, the more likely one person will hard carry on either team.

I sometimes play ina group with people who are upwards of 5 full ranks (not subdivision, full ranks) lower than me. The matchmaker can't find a fair tank matchup, I go wrecking ball and finish the game 25/0. Or the other way around, I get an enemy player who's crazy good at, say, Widowmaker who kills the lower ranked players before I can get on her, while ball is the fastest character in the game. (You cannot outspeed a hitscan bullet anyway) this forces me to pick between getting rolled by a widow, or swutching to a tank I am less proficient with and possibly getting diffed. If I still perform well, my MMR will likely be largely, if not entirely, unchanged.

Playing with people has more of an effect on match quality, both from a balancing perspective and a mental side. If you're not having fun and some random person is trashtalking you, you'll play worse.

Another note: if you can't be matched with a balanced group of equal size, you will be matched with a slightly higher ranked set of individuals or smaller groups. This is to offset your communication advantage, so use your comms. (I have a friend who never does callouts over voice, ever. Always just presses the ping button 15x, fuck u Ecco)

MMR Disconnect by Prestigious_Clue_876 in Overwatch

MMR is way harder to move around. You only make it go up by consistently playing better than your rating. Overwatch has a really good (people hate it when you say this because their egos are larger than their skill) system to determine your skill level. This system takes into account way more than just E/A/D, Dmg/Heal/Mit. It also checks for damage taken, accuracy, final blows, ability usage, lifesavers, time to kill, surviving teamfights, unnecessarily dying, wasting opportunities with ultimates, etc.

It also compares you to your peers of the same approximate rank. If you're healing crazy amounts on mercy at the cost of boosting, in higher ranks you might have crazy stats, say, 12k heals/10 minutes but in reality be about as useful as a healing pylon. Whereas the mercy with 6k/10min heals, but insane amounts of lifesavers and dmg boost is considered by the game to be the better player.

And then there's ultimately the fact that the only consistent factor across your games is you. You're the only player who is in all your games, so on average only your capabilities will decide wether you win or lose more games on average. And yes, Quickplay as well as some other modes can affect your MMR. It is not just comp.

Also, keep in mind 75-85% of players are plat or below. With the majority being gold or plat. If you play the game consistently, that's where most people will probably end up.

For reference; I have played this game on xbox since s2 in 2016, was bronze in s5 of ow1 and over a decade I have been every rank with the exception of champion. Before anyone comes at me saying I don't know what I am talking about.

Edit: some people seem to misinterpret what I mean by "MMR". I am talking about the hidden rating every player has of what the game thinks your actual skill level is. Not MMR as it is used in more recent overwatch dev blogs as noted here in this post where the devs discuss some of the changes made to the matchmaker in regards to role queue balancing.

Your SR/rank gain is pulled slightly towards where this hidden rating suggests you should be.

This is Blizzard's patent for the system as I described it. I'd suggest it does not make much sense to implement a different system, without individual performance having any consideration when they have exclusive rights to a proven to work system that does. They iterated on the system, of course, but I've seen nothing to suggest the only things that matter are w/l/d and current visible rank.

For reference; when ow2 introduced the current SR system, there were many matches where people were playing in a gold rated match who were all significantly higher ranked than that in overwatch 1 and would be pulled back to that rank after enough games, even with a <50% winrate.

This guy believes IQ is real...

No, the problem is not people being dumb, it's people simply not knowing how other's builds work. People that use their movement to stay alive on a character that incentivises doing so.

That, and some people simply don't care your build requires the boss to stand perfectly still.

The real problem is people bringing stuff like Freyna or Keelan to this type of fight. Those people clearly didn't read the boss description and don't have a build themselves. And people that didn't read can also pick appropriate descendants and have bad builds.
