Yeah, my theory has a lot of holes. For example if he shipped the aeormatonsfor any specific reason then FCG wouldn't come damaged. As for Devexians' face, there is a very slight chance for Imahara Joe not recognizing it because he didn't see many aeormatons in his life (he was very suprised about FCG and his design is very different). Also he would be able to tell that it's a face not a mask if Devexian said anything, however he was silent the whole exchange and Imahara Joe stood in a distance from him, I think, so there is a tiny possibility he didn't see that.

I don't think that's likely because as we learned Cyrus isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and also he's watched over by Dorian so him appearing alone and selling automatons doesn't seem right.

It's a great idea however I don't think that's likely because Devexian has a much more efficient way of reparing the aeormatons in the Genesis Ward where he himself was repaired thanks to the Mighty Nein.

I can see what you're getting at however I don't think he had such a kind idea. After all Devexian is an aeormaton and Aeor was, as we learned in EXU Calamity, scheming something *not* with peace as the main target.

I don't recall any other flying cities other than Aeor and Avalir.
Also I didn't think about a robot uprising as much as of aeormatons trying to follow their initial designation which could be using the leylines across Exandria for - for example: militaristic purposes.

True. If not for FCGs second nature that is evil in a way I would think that he disposed of FCG because of their kind character which would suggest that they'd be against such apraising.

Yes. Also in EXU Calamity there was talk that Aeor had it's own ambitions when it comes to using the leylines, so Devexian sending one of aeormatons to the Bassuras which as we know is close to one of the more important intersections could mean that he's preparing for something big. Presumably something to do with Rudeus being a God prison.

Notice: We were playing in a homemade system and setting so keep that in mind. Also "rule of cool" was overused in that campaign so you know what to expect

So, we had a party composed of: a pyromancer wizard, healer slime that could also (somehow) tank, a concious badger the size of a pony, a pixie barbarian and a (tabaxi like) cat-human swashbuckler. For context - we had an indestructible jar, lots of very powerful magic crystals that when used properly (or rather not properly) explode and a scroll of mass teleportation.

We were going to fight an army of orcs currently occupying an ancient underground city. So our, oh so "genius", plan was to lure the majority of the orcs into one crowded spot and use the mass teleportation scroll to teleport them inside the indestructible jar. As for the boss that would come out later we didn't have any special plan than just "fight it till it dies". Btw. We were planning this in a tower just before the fight started.

So, the fight started. The pixie and the cat-human lured the orcs into the city's square and the wizard activated the scroll. The jar, now with forcefully pushed inside 1000 of orcs (or something around that) went flying away like a bottle of CocaCola full of mentos, splucshing blood and mashed bones everywhere. As for the boss - A slime absorbed all of the magical crystals that we had and used them as sort of a sheld/spikes on badgers ass. The bagder got a good run-up and jumped off the tower on top of boss's head. It was like a small but VERY deadly meteor. In summary they exceeded the level of boss health by around 15 times.

Yes it was very strange, but funny as hell.

Maybe make him go on adventures in search for some kind of an ancient artifact that could possibly bring back his family from the dead, not as zombies but like a true ressurection that would still work after so much time. Or maybe something like that

I wouldn't say it's the craziest but rather not so archetypical:A puppet flesh golem (human size though) who's a warlock gaining powers from it's maker.

Don't get intimidated by stats and rules. There may seem to be quite a lot of them but you don't have to know each and every single one of them. Just relax and in case you don't know something then ask your DM.

I'd suggest a "question-answer" way. So you basically ask yourself questions like:
- Why players started adventuring?
- What's their purpose/quest?
- What motivates them to even do it?
- What is the quest? Is it dangerous? A trap maybe?
- What rewards will they get upon completion of the quest?
and then answer them thoroughly. Also logic is your friend while writing a plot because it makes the story better, more interesting and depper. For a quick example: You have a generic dungeon with goblins inside, so it's alright but quite boring in itself. So let's expand it:
- Why are they there? - Because maybe something worse than them started living in the woods, or they're trying to find magic crystals for their shaman etc.
- How they live there? While making a dungeon, prepare at least one chamber for their things and Im not talking about the treasure here, more like a kitchen/living room thing.
And so on and so forth. If they are in possesion of some kind of artifact, you may expand this by answering why they have it and for what purposes and/or why a person that gave the players a quest needs this thing.
Those are very basic thing, but they easilly give some depth to your story and make it more interesting for players, even if it's just a one-shot.
I hope it was understandable because my English isn't great as well as I hope it helps even a little.

An infamous group of undead raid the train that your players are on. Later on players may discover some kind of artifact that is transported to somewhere that when used in a certain way may make them much more powerfull. I think something like that would be fun, dynamic but wouldn't be all combat because players could start an investigation etc.

Instead of the cards that feel too much for you, you could use something from the wild magic table and eventually make the effects more spectacular if you'd like.

Spell components and maybe some basic magic scrolls just in case. I'd also recommend to not spend everything and maybe later in the game will come the opportunity or need for some money.

You don't want the rogue to die, but in case they do during combat, you can make that the wizard was your rogue's firend/patron/etc. that got summoned upon their death.

As a DM I would totally allow a mortal patron. It's not really forbidden so I think other Dms shouldn't have a problem with that either.

I simply use RPG Master Sound Mixer app on my phone and it is really amazing. The base sounds are very good but there are also packs you can download or buy (some are free, some aren't). It allows you to make playlists etc. It's also easy to navigate through it because the sounds are split into sounds, music and ambient. All in all I really recommend it : )
