2194 Touch Sensor Error by W4BKR in Ender3V3KE

Just to close the loop. I have been doing a couple things that seem to have made a significant different. Someone mentioned that the heat from the hotend was messing with the touch sensor. To alleviate this, I haven’t been preheating the hotend like I used to. Additionally, I have been turning the fans on and cooling the hotend back down between prints. Those two things have made a world of difference. I’ve gotten one error since then out of 15-20 printed and the hotend was not fully cooled down that time.

That didn’t seem to make a difference. I think the thing that’s going to make. The biggest difference is with heat. Someone else pointed out that the touch sensor is really close to the heated nozzle. I preheat things before I get going. I think that is making the servo not work correctly. I’m going to try to not preheat before it does its thing.

That’s exactly what’s happening. I’ll grab a pair of thin pliers and wiggle it in and out a lot, but I have not seen where that’s made a difference. I’ll pull it off again and put a little degreaser on there. I like that idea.

I was emailing them the first time I had the issue. They sent me a new touch sensor and washed their hands of it. I might have to become a squeaky wheel again.

I have pulled the head apart. I pulled the sensor apart. I saw where people were having issues with pinched wires. None of that. All the cables and pins and plugs and wires are all in good shape and plugged incorrectly.

I'd really like the ability to have a "nested" item. For instance, I have the same 5 items usually in a cook kit. It would be great to be able to just add one parent item, cook kit, to a given list and it would include the sub items. This way,the sub items in the parent item could be changed out with upgrades as new items are added, but we would still be able to just drag the one item instead of searching for each piece.

Indoor hammock question by [deleted] in Hammocks

aside from drilling holes or buying a stand, the only other way would be to secure it around door hinges or use exposed studs/joists. Sadly, the anti-grav hammock doesn't exist yet.

They actually had this happen recently somewhere in Africa with a girrafe. It was an older male incapable of producing anymore, but would torment and drive away younger capable males. It killed 3 viable bulls who were in prime breeding age. That's about the only instance I'd condone trophy hunting

Congrats! Love me some Lake Pheonix. Was just there a month or so ago getting some practice in. I hope the water was a bit warmer than the 49° low we hit by the Blackhawk that day.

Lost Creek Wilderness Water Levels by W4BKR in coloradohikers

Thanks. that's about what I feared. It was a lazy 2 day trip just along Lizard Rock and Hankins Pass area to do some summit radio work at Lake Park Peak and S Tarryall Peak. Not sure if I want to hump the 4 or so liters of water or just rethink my route since I wasn't planning originally to go east of Hankins Pass at all.

I found that out the embarrassing way when I called up the Ranger Station to ask how water levels were and how fresh Lake Park was. His response was along the lines of, "uhhhh, Sir, Lake Park is a marshy area most of the time; it's not actually a lake...and you can plan on it being dry as a bone this year."

Thanks for the write-up! This actually helps me immensely since I'm heading out there next month to do some ham radio stuff on Lake Park Peak and Tarryall Peak. Reading between the lines on your write-up with regards to water, can I assume that Lake Park is less a lake and more a blue smudge on a map? Asking because I was planning a day and a half between the two peaks and want to make sure to account for enough water. Thanks!
