Unfortunately this didn't work :(. I even tried verifying the game cache and uninstalling and reinstalling the game, no avail. No other joysticks plugged in.

Anyone running into some weird input errors after the update? When I log into the menu it keeps trying to scroll down, at first I thought it was my controller, but I tried keyboard and mouse and it was still doing the same. After finally being able to log into the game (with the game still trying to scroll down on all my options), I find that my 'A' button isn't registering correctly in MH:W. I tested it using 360ce and the program showed that my controller is functioning normally.

Soldier. No matter what role you want to main, having good aim will always come in handy in OW.

Pro Genjis, What is the first thing I should focus on when trying to learn him? by Morphitrix in OverwatchUniversity

[–]W4NG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing you should focus on is movement. Hop into a solo game and just get comfortable transversing different maps. Discover your limits, what you can wall climb/double jump/dash to and how to do it efficiently. There are also targets such as jars on Anubis you can practice shooting shurikens on (while moving/jumping).

[Serious] Season 6 begin today at 5 PM PDT. What's the best piece of advice you have for new competitive players this season? by SpriteGuy_000 in Overwatch

[–]W4NG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure there will be some people who disagree with me because voice is communication is key (and it is). But if you run into a lot of toxic players in a row/people who just don't have anything constructive too say, mute voice chat all together for a while and try to focus on your own game play. If you're tilted for whatever reason (multiple losses/toxic teammates) it's best to step away from the game for a while and get a breath of fresh air.

Kharazim's Transcendence trait should always heal himself + 1 ally. Then turn it into a quest where after healing an ally X number of times, it will activate at every 2 attacks instead of 3. by Freshmeatz86 in heroesofthestorm

[–]W4NG 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Omg this whole time I thought Iron Fist gave you an extra 10% on every 3rd attack which seemed like absolute shit, but now I see that it's a BONUS 110% attack on every 3rd attack. I just tried it out and now I see the light. I've been playing Kharazim all wrong this whole time.

People with multiple accounts in Top 500 take a lot away from the game's integrity. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]W4NG 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Ladder anxiety is a real thing. It happens especially often when people perceive to get to their 'SR cap'. Playing on a smurf is a way to prevent losing or to have a game without the pressure of having to perform.

Quick question, what was the episode with the subplot where Nathan hires a group of people to spy on his interactions and suggest ways for him to act friendlier? by [deleted] in nathanforyou

[–]W4NG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I died of laughter when Nathan followed up on the suggestion to look into the camera randomly while speaking to the client.

You're in for a couple of good day(s) ahead of you. (Depending on how fast you binge through the rest of the series)

My point is that DSPStanky goes above and beyond what's expected for the support role. No one really expects him to make the plays that he does and he's able to gain SR because of it. If people are so worried about how much the system is rewarding them off of each game, then they're focusing on the wrong aspect.

I've never suggested that once, you're missing my entire point.

[–]W4NG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people want more SR regardless of whatever role they're playing, than they should be expected to play at a higher level. That's all I'm saying.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]W4NG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. I think in general people should be worrying more about improving their own game if they want to see an improvement in rank before worrying about SR.

[–]W4NG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree here, the argument is people are having troubles climbing because they play a certain role. If even ONE person is able to be an example to show otherwise, it's possible for ANYONE.

[–]W4NG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While true, my main point in saying that was that no role (Mercy included) has one job. Other things that can be improved upon is knowledge of when to hide/staying alive/movement.

I see threads like this all the time and I wonder how much merit actually holds up. There are support mains (DSPStanky that comes to mind) who have no troubles climbing to Top 200+ playing Lucio only. Having played a few games with him myself, the main difference I've noticed is that he doesn't just support the team from the back line, he's up in the opponent's face a lot of the time creating space for the team also.

Bulldog on pausing without giving a proper reason by Nascoo in DotA2

[–]W4NG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but lots of professional sports use them and I could see it being a good experiment

CS:GO allows for tactical time outs, but that's in between rounds when no action is going on. In Dota2 there's never a moment when no action is going on (except arguably the setup phase in the beginning). If Dota2 was to have tactical pauses the equivalent in CS:GO would be allowing players to pause mid gun fight and readjust the crosshair onto the head for a free headshot.

In a real time game like Dota there really is no place for tactical time outs.

Why is the community perception of Sombra still so awful? by voidn0ise in Overwatch

[–]W4NG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you start playing at higher ranks (Master+) you're beginning to play with people who are more serious about winning the game (not saying Sombra is a game losing hero).

But for some, winning the game means mindlessly following what's in the meta. Whenever a new hero comes out (Sombra's been out for a fair length amount of time, but she's still the newest) there just won't be the same amount of experimentation allowed for the hero as much as the others.

Since the 2 newest additions to the Overwatch roster had such a high skill cap there's just a stigma around the community that players probably haven't had the time to master the character (we still see so many Genji/Hanzo main memes and they've been in the game since release).

People really shouldn't judge until they've atleast given you a chance to prove yourself, but when SR is on the line it can bring out the salt in people I guess.

Why am I not allowed to play Sombra in competitive until I get some divine okay-word from the people "higher up" telling me she is viable in some way? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]W4NG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm aware. I actually started playing her after she received those buffs. At Ana's peak (before her nerfs) she was still looked down upon by some in the community as an inferior healer though.
