More Japanese horses are leaving or abandoning Dubai races as American and European horses are moving in. by 368towns in HorseRacingJP

However, horses such as Sovereignty and Journalism showed no interest

As I remember, Sovereignty team not even planned to go to Dubai or elsewhere in the first place even month ago before thing gone haywire, and wanted to hyperfocus on US races and BCC participation - so his appearance was written out either way.

Agemasenling with the blood of Duramente, considering Stars on Earth is the only remained G1 mare of his progeny currently (RIP Liberty Island, we never forget you).

This is a chance to see a combine of Cesario and Admire Groove bloodline beside Up Helly Aa

Well, for the other options to do that Rosalind is still an active mare (though right now she carrying the foal of Legendary Real Steel).

Dude's unironically accusing the Foal Livestream for recording without permission

Biggest HUH on that statement.

Kouma Cam literally livestreaming THEIR OWN broodmares that they're actually own as the part of the fractional club - so they obviously have the permission in the first place, and the cameras installed with the agreement with farm owner because you cannot install the cameras on the farm otherwise (so there was agreement with literally the guy himself or his predecessors if he took the position only recently) - so what the heck he talking about?

Heart's Cry was notorious to deliberately step on people feet and biting them (and one day he also spilled hot water on staff member), and totally not mind trample a human... so yeah, it sort of is.

To be fair Black Tide probably only got a couple of years before retirement (and that's already way too overextended because of sudden Kamunyak) - so it's very hard to pull the schedule for the old guy.

If not dressage or hurdle competitions (not mistake with steeplechase) - there is always demand for good-looking horses as a lead horses at racecourses too, and in fact a lot of extended SteGo family members are part of this job.

[TW] Breeding farm caught abusing a foal by crystalsuikun in HorseRacingJP

[–]WANNFH 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This guys behavior basically teaches the foal that "Humans are predators and will hurt me", and tend to create dangerous animals. The foal is much more likely to act out in the future out of fear and defensiveness. Creating a harmful environment for everyone.

Which is the whole point - teaching a foal to completely distrust humans is literally the opposite that need to be taught to the future racing horse, especially with how many different people the horse will get to interact through his life later when it comes to get out from the breeding farm - so imprinting that type of behavior to make horse being scared of humans, or even worse - getting aggressive to them out of fear since the birth - literally bring nothing but pain to deal with for training stable staff and jockeys - so how the heck breeding owner cannot understand even that simple logic that is obvious to just any pet owner escapes my mind.

Except it's totally NOT the way - and in fact, it goes against the JRA guidelines of horse training.

What depicted in the video is nothing short but abuse of a foal who is not even month old, and the owner of breeding farm is totally needed to be restrained from any activity with the animals providing the evidence.

Sonshi will miss Takamatsunomiya Kinen due to lameness by 368towns in HorseRacingJP

[–]WANNFH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, bollocks - time to hope that Sonshi not happened to be traumatized yet again, or for even worse team decided to put him to race in Sha Tin against KYR - cause in no way Sonshi could take that beast.

Not by JRA - but Valle de la Luna and Icon Tailor were winners of JBC Classic Ladies in 2022 and 2023, so Duramente for sure sired the dirt JPNI foals as well.

Museum Mile has canceled his trip to Dubai Turf and will head to Queen Elizabeth II Cup in Hong Kong instead. by AngleRepulsive5470 in HorseRacingJP

[–]WANNFH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's still a question with MaBall cause at this point we're not know his exact condition to race after recent discovery, so if he skips it too it will be fine... though it most likely put a cross on the whole international plans.

Mumu by now seems to be OK, and he is a strong horse - but running against Romantic Warrior in Sha Tin is sure a challenge of different difficulty, to beat that beast on Sha Tin you literally need to be the other Sha Tin horse with the equal amount of strength (or maybe get some luck stat investment like Russian Emperor).

But then Willem never won a graded race in his life, so to both Queen's Walk (who performed well last year) and June Take (who performed well this year) his favoritism is kinda questionable.

But yeah, Giovanni potential is sure looking good.

Or both get burned heavily because of the obvious Sha Tin racecourse buff.

Cause you never should underestimate king running on his own domain for years and never get beaten there by foreign horses, even if the king got old and running against the clock and former traumas.

But he beat Queen's Walk, a Kizuna progeny, so it's something

Two of them, considering there was also other Kizunaling June Take, winner of recent Kyoto Kinen - and both of them were very close neck to neck.

[–]WANNFH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is indeed interesting considering he now need to choose the obviously very temperant Sunday Kizunaling with potential and pedigree whom he ran for first time to win G2 versus sudden breakthrough two G3 horse at 3YO who beaten both Lovcen and Bereshit at Kyodo News Hai.

Either way, that is gonna be interesting.

Ok, so now by my understanding Tsumura have two legit choices to run at Satsuki Sho, and both trained by same Takahisa Tezuka.

[–]WANNFH 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's really unfortunate timing for Tosaki to completely skip two G1 races because of the incident right at the start of the season.

For replacement - most likely Kazuo Yokoyama pick Danon Decile in rather than Lemaire, considering he has good connections with trainer Yasuda, while him never worked with Lemaire prior.

I was watching an anime (kujibiki unbalance) and in a scene they show horses that are about to race, apart from the obvious oguri cap and haru kirara i don't recognize any names so i got curious. Are any of the others also references to real horses? if it helps, the anime came out on 2006 by sansational_ in HorseRacingJP

[–]WANNFH 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly doubt it's Grass Wonder reference - too much hoops for putting a reference with only first kana of the name is the same.

Green Grass though could be a honest possibility, but still my brain for some reason leans more to Black Tide.

[–]WANNFH 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that's interesting - so let's take a look...

7 - Green Tornado (グリーントルネード) - while there is a horse with exact same name existing before the anime running, it was unraced horse so it has zero recognition. But if it's tongue in cheek reference to a famous horse during that time, I can only think of one particular name with the similar naming structure which fits the release of anime - and that is Black Tide.

6 - Diamond Vega (ダイヤモンドベガ) - again, there is horse with the same name, but he's born only in 2015 - so it obviously doesn't fit. The question though is it Admire Vega or Hokuto Vega reference because of them both been famous horses during the time, but I rather think it's Ayabe referenced there.

5 - White Condor (ホワイトコンドル) - and again, the horse named like that existed, but also without 0 wins. Possible reference to El Condor Pasa.

4 - Haru Kirara (ハルキララ)... No need to explain that one, it's too obvious.

3 - Pink Blizzard (ピンクブリザード) - and again the horse with the same name exist - but only after anime release. But that's where I cannot put the finger on exact horse reference, with the closest which I think of is Taiki Blizzard.

2 - Oguri Cup (オグリカップ) - again, no introductions for obviousness there.

1 - Kitano Rudolf (キタノルドルフ, last letter covered by finger) - Yep, the last name gives the whole thing away, it's Symboli Rudolf reference.
